happy to be alive, grateful to be an American

Went well I’d have to say, no prior surgery for comparison. 48 hours in I’m pretty impressed with how little pain there is. I’ve been advised that it’s coming. It’s like that rollercoaster ride once I was strapped in I was there for the whole thing.

happy to be alive, grateful to be an American

Limped around on crutches. Hips are notoriously lousy in my family. Every picture of my great grandfather shows him standing with crutches. He was having problems by 45 yrs. Recently reading about how you just don’t encounter people with canes like you once did. They were quite common, I know...

Well that didn’t work out like I hoped

Hogue will be sending out a replacement. I had emailed them, got nervous so called. The email was in my spam box, wish I understood how’s and why’s of that filter. Customer service was as friendly as talking with a longtime neighbor. She understood the system and products as if she had...

Well that didn’t work out like I hoped

I saw the new Vaquero mark the pkg indicated S6 as well. Perhaps the grips are in the wrong box? Or were they one and the same in the past?

I guess I didn’t look, didn’t know it was on there. Reckon I’ll go look.

Well that didn’t work out like I hoped

Tried to swap grips on my stainless Single Seven. Ordered what I thought was the correct type, those fit for the Single Six etc. The roll pin is far too high in my frame for these. Somehow I got the idea the S7 was just a S6 chambered for 327. Could anyone explain what I should be looking for...

    What's the Consensus ?

In a given design I’m likely to choose the premium steel. I find design is more important to me than a super steel. I’m not going in for A-2 for something I scrape gaskets with, but for field dressing yes it’s my choice.

Am I the only one who likes Buck Knives?

Can you even consider yourself an American citizen if you don’t have a Buck 110? Mine is approaching 50 years old. It’s too heavy, and the sentimental value has increased to the point it stays in a drawer. From Boy Scouts to my first half dozen deer seasons it was my constant companion.

    Chinese knives

I’ve got a couple Chinese Almar folders. Hawk and Falcon maybe, Nice enough I carry them, cheap enough I don’t worry about them. Both are exotic box knives in my use.

    SP-101 Upgrades

If you’re a reloader it’s a great choice. If not buy all the 327 you find whether you have the gun or not. The stuff is seasonal, and it gets sucked up fast. As a reloader I don’t let it bother me.

I think it’s very diet dependent. Gotta have them finished on blueberries.

Semi Auto Bear Defense!!! Whoda Thunk!!!

Buy or borrow an electric fence charger for a few weeks. Leave the wire in place. Guy can ruin a bait pile with some fuel oil, might try some, be careful though as it’ll kill grass even where rain washes it.
