Tyrone, When Jackie saw the clip on TV tonight the FIRST words out of her mouth were, "Oh no, I wonder what Tyrone said about this." :D We both discussed it and came to the conclusion as most here said. Find out who they are and arrest and fine them, at a minimum public service working in a zoo where they may (probably not) learn something about wild animals.

The "Bambi" syndrome! People do NOT realize that animals react differently than people! Well-known among wildlife professionals.:mad::mad:

Fortunately, or NOT, black bears tend not to be very aggressive on protecting cubs. Grizzlies are DIFFERENT!! It's an evolutionary development with a well document reason. I've discussed it elsewhere and won't again because it is long! Deer kill more people than any other wild animal.

I once knew a Fish and Wildlife LEO who had to testify on illegal take of a crustacean. Not too "cute & cuddly". So, he put some eyes on it with great big lashes. Prosecutor wouldn't use it in court for some reason! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well, apparently,, this story has been well discussed to where it was picked up by the National News,, namely ABC. It was broadcast tonight on the national news. Hopefully, that will assist in pushing for prosecution for these IDIOTS!!!!!!

Two male types, and 4 female types who should be seriously charged & fined etc.

I'm hoping I get a chance soon to talk to one of my local Wardens. Maybe get a little inside info on the potential charges & such about this.
Hopefully, enough outrage & pressure will make the Wildlife Commission prosecute these O2 thieves.

Years ago, here locally, some Karen decided she wanted to pet a black bear cub. She baited it in and then grabbed it. Momma bear smacked the stupid off her and ran off with ber cub, sadly because it attacked a person the bear was trapped and euthanized
That is the saddest part, other than the fate of mama bear being what it would be I would love for the mama bears to be able to cuff the crap out of these imbeciles.

I agree with Wendy. I do wish momma bear had been able to educate these IDIOTS,, yet it would have ended with her being killed by the Wildlife Commission, and both cubs in a rehab place.

^^^^^ Yep, saw it on the NBC news last night, NC said they won't be charging any of them with any crime, apparently because they don't have any laws against it. Contender will be able to confirm or deny this (the laws). Both the wife and I said they should be hammered - to make an example of them to maybe teach people not to mess with "cute and cuddly" wildlife. NAH,, ain't gonna happen, people are just too stupid nowadays.

I'm not familiar with Federal law about harassing wildlife but I'm pretty sure Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho have laws against harassing wildlife!

There's always a verdict o "Death by mis-adventure" (aka Stupidity!)

Besides, you TRUST NBC??

Not being charged with anything will just empower them to do more stupid things. Perhaps Darwin will come out winning for them.
Unfortunately, it looks like they've already flooded the gene pool with their defective genes!!! (Which appear to be dominant and not recessive!)

I've heard that potential charges may be pending,, and also that it may appear they won't be charged. I was thinking that NC does have a law against harassment of big game & unlawful take. (Even if the "take" is very short term) & causes the animal to be removed from it's unnatural environment. By causing the one cub to become an orphan should qualify.

I'll be finding out whatever I can when I get a GOOD chance & no media BS.
