This is my personal view:
Judeo-Christian morality is the core value of Western Civilization. Right and wrong, in the Old Testament, were defined by written laws - and compliance with those laws was based on the observations of other men's acts. In the New Testament, Jesus raised the bar - if a man thought about committing improper conduct, he committed it. Men need not observe the illicit act - God did. Either way, Judeo-Christian morality had a definite code of right and wrong, complete with consequences for each.
The movies (in the earliest part of the 20th century) and more recently TV, have assaulted the Judeo-Christian value system, first gently and now bluntly. In the movies a "good guy" can say, do and think evil thoughts and still be characterized as a good guy. Audiences buy into this forgivable misconduct and incorporate it in their behavioral norm.
Marxist philosophy includes no equivalent to Judeo-Christian moral principles. So Hollywood's incorporation of Marxist behavior into movie and tv characters comprised the first broad-based step away from Western Civilization's cultural norms. Secular music was next.
Today we're now waaaaaaaaay down that road - and perhaps close to the "dead" end.

If you think Judeo morality and Christian morality are in any way similar, you might look into reading the Talmud. They are as far apart as Christianity and Islam.
I read, and re-read, and re-read again my original post. Nowhere did I assert that "Judeo" morality and Christian morality are in any way similar.
My conclusion about Marxism is at the core of my post. If you disagree you're free to say so. Just remember, my post expressed my personal beliefs. You are free to believe whatever you wish. We will each bear the consequences of our beliefs.
I am sure most here are aware of them but there are two fictional books I believe should be required reading for everyone. One is 1984, the other is Animal Farm. Interestingly enough both were written by a British socialist. Both contain a lot of truth. Fahrenheit 451 made quite the impression on one of my daughters also.

It is only OUR Fault. We all keep to ourselves. Out of 30 houses on our street, I only talk to about 5 neighbors.

The fact that we keep to ourselves is empowering the mass media. Before teevee, neighbors often socialized with each other and people had conversations about race, religion and politics. Now everyone watches the talking heads on the boob tube on the six o'clock news, they already "know everything" and have no reason the talk to anyone. The media has made it "impolite" to discuss race, religion and politics so in the few instances we talk to neighbors it's small talk about weather and such.
I say it's OK to discuss unpopular subjects and disagree. Nothing hostile about that.

Sadly, most normal humans who have something to lose don't want to revolt and thus lose it. The only "revolutionaries" are the kids and neer do wells with nothing to lose. They need to keep the hand outs coming.
