Cleaned & polished on a Heritage Softail one Friday till midnight. 3 or 4 couples to meet at my house next day for a ride up into Ohio. I had the bike sort of sitting crossways in the drive for a good view. Nobody said a word.

We rode into the next county to meet up with more riders at a country store. Nobody said a word. I was calling them names under my breath.

On the way to Oh. I wondered if I'd ever clean a motorcycle that well ever again. It gave me pride, but nobody noticed? Was it worth it ?

Once in Oh. we stopped one more time for a pow wow before a further ride. And finally, the pickiest guy of the whole bunch said that he didn't know if he could ride with anybody that had a cleaner motorcycle than him. The rest of the gang moaned, say they too had noticed but just didn't want to give me the satisfaction, good friends ya know.
Mission accomplished.

After every ride I thoroughly clean the windscreen on my Spyder, as well as the headlights and any obvious bugs on the front of the bike, but that's about it. Maybe once a season I actually wash and dry the whole bike. On my new Royal Enfield, without a windscreen, I just use water to clean off the big headlight and any obvious bugs on the front fender. It never seemed worth the effort to get too crazy about having a clean bike. I'll admit I did a quick wet down and wipe dry on my Goldwing the day I was trading it in on the new Spyder. I later saw the bike all shiny and sparkling on the dealer's showroom floor, so they detailed it for their sale. Would have been a wasted effort for me to have worked hard to really clean it up first.

I love Harleys I have had a lot of them, even had two at one time.
Now my knees are hurting, so I bought a sports car. I now own a 2014 100th anniversary edition Dodge Challenger. They only made 50,000 of them.

Cleaned up mine and buffed the chrome after rebuilding my fuel petcock this morning. Then took it for a long ride..

One of my rides.
I need to get it out, and make another road trip soon, while I still can.

I love riding it, It gets great gas mileage, but it's so darned heavy anymore.
