Planning to thin the herd a bit. I have 10/22 first yr production in excellent condition. Also a very early finger groove and its mint condition also. What would be the market on these two beauties?

both are a premium these days , I believe if real early they came in a 'brown' cardboard box?? and if todays 10/22s are in the $300-400 range I can only imagine what the early , early ones are worth ezpecailly if they are in a "package" ( box, papers ,etc)you need to do your homework look on line, see if ANY "finished"( ended ) auctions show either of your guns I sold both a year or so ago ,NO Boxes but nice guns and I got in the $600-650 range I 'd bet they are more today,,,,,,,,, saw a 3 digit 44 carbine two shows back and it was $850-90 wish it was in nicer shape,,,,so they are out there, we sold all our low number 10/22s many years ago and cheap and they KNOW who they are and what they got.............:rolleyes:;)

I concur w/ rugerguy.
You didn't mention entire package or just nice shooters.

The Carbine 400-5
The Finger Sporter $$600-7
… if there nice shooters,,,
Finding the "collector" now days is a challenge as most of us Old guys have it, and the Younger guys are few and far that appreciate the old wood stuff. That's not saying extinct, just hard to find.
With that said I believe with a lot of really nice pictures and at auction one can get $100-2 more, but then you have the fees…. 🙄

IMO:
In the current economy, I am starting to see some nice Guns for much better prices, especially at Gun Shows/ face-to-face. The hard to find new stuff that has been strong is starting to soften.

Like Ruger guy says, a total package increases value.
I agree with G2 on the carbine if it's a 4 or 5 digit, but the lower serial numbered stuff has more value.
Just guns? A 3 digit gun $600-$800, a 2 digit $1000- $1600 and higher if a low number in the teens to twenties.
The lower the number the more value.
A single digit???? Please PM me!!
The sporter $600-$700.
Just my opinion.
Cheers,
