A similar thread talked about some cities are nutty about pocket knives.

Just read a report about plans to make some models of Victorinox knives without blades. If it is bladeless is it still a knife?
Some countries do not allow blades because they can be used as weapons.
I would post the link but have not figured out how.
But first I am getting rid of my knives. Had no idea they were instruments of destruction.

If the gun control people ever get what they really want, i.e., making gun ownership illegal, criminal violence will continue and they will go after the knives. This is already the case in the U.K., and knife control is proving as ineffective as gun control. Some day our great-grandchildren will be down to carry a good fork for their self defense, or possibly a big spoon. The morons are ruling the Earth.

It kind of makes sense. Like the person in the article says, a tool for cyclists, who probably don't need a blade. And then by not being able to take knives on airplanes, a bladeless multi tool should be ok. Although I'd hate to spend $50 or $75 on a tool just to have some arrogant TSA say it can't fly. So I would have to have some sort of guarantee that it's TSA approved.

Just like the thread a couple weeks ago about taking a knife to France. Something like this would work. Corkscrew, and other small tools you might need for travel.

I recently pulled out my pocket knife for something simple, and a teenage kid looked at me and said "You have knife on you?!?!" -- Always.
Same here. Had grandkids over a few weeks ago. Had to open a delivery box. Neither kid had a knife. (They are in their 20's) I bitched at them about not having a knife. I have gifted them MANY knives. I was in pajama pants. They said do I have a knife on me in jammies. I said yes and pulled out my Cold Steel Airlight lol. Young embarrassed faces.

I have given all mine Buck folders, Swiss Army knives, & Leatherman multi-tools.
They all carry one of the knives on their persons and the Leathermans in their vehicles.
With the exception of my youngest grandson (13) who is not allowed to carry a knife at his middle school.

Back in late 1969 I was workinging in a cabnet shop. Boss held a weekly meeting at lunch time and asked the crew if anyone has a jack knife? Turns out I was the only one who had any kind of a pocket knife. Boss gave me a raise in pay. Later, just before Christmas he gave every one in the shop a nice little pocket knife which I still have to this day. I woudt be caught without one.
