My woods/bear country carry is a Redhawk in .45Colt . So far I haven't had to use it but with bear loads I think it's a good choice.

Mine is a Browning Auto5 Light-12 that I bought used for $75.00 back in 1968. It was born in Belgium in 1957 and sports a nice brown patina. I told folks just lay it beside me in the casket as it's been an old friend for such a long time.

Our local grocery Fred Meyer's stocks Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Salsa which is my new "go to" favorite. Not smoking hot but adds a nice flavor to many dishes. We also have the usual ones - Tabasco, Cholula, Valentinas, but Frank's is way too vinegary for my taste. My wife doesn't care a lot...

We get our occasional moose but never a black bear. You are lucky.
