Any plans on a gun purchase in January 2024

My focus lately has been 10/22’s and MK4’s. I think I need a 10/22 RSI. New production or lightly used. Anything RSI is on my list.

    MKII picture thread

Traded for this MKII at a local show in Phoenix about a decade ago. Romeo 5 works well for my uses.

What made you a Ruger rifle fan?

It all started with a10/22 and later a mini-14. For some reason, I fell in love with No.1's. I wish I still had some of my Ruger's from years past.

    Best scenic drives

Highway 65 between Springfield, Missouri and Little Rock, Arkansas. Some very beautiful sections of real estate along that road. Bill

What did I do after I retired?

Retirement is on my mind. I have a few more years in the workforce as long as everyone can be nice to each other. Health and finances are the big factors. I get excited thinking about it and enjoyed reading this thread. What will I do? Bill

    SR1911 5" lightweight

I am also wondering what separates the two lightweight models that would explain the price difference. Bill

    SR1911 5" lightweight

Happy with today’s range trip. Tight groups at point of aim at 10 yards. 80 rounds fired of factory 230 FMJ without a single issue. Recoil was only slightly snappier than my “all steel” models and not really noticeable. Disassembly and clean up revealed no unusual wear thus far. Very happy with...

Inferior firearms vs function and reliability

I have the RIA 1911 SF in 40S&w and I am completely satisfied. Very accurate and has not failed in over 1000 rounds of factory rounds and reloads. Cleanup has become a familiar process and I keep the required paper clips in a bag on my bench. I want a 9mm and 45. I have one Colt an a couple of...

Not the SA-35, but did end up with a new HP clone

Nice description of your Girsan. I have the SA35 and like it a lot so far. I have a Girsan 1911 that has not proven reliable due to extractor issues. The internal parts of my 1911 are the cheapest material available. I do enjoy disassembly and parts replacement when reworded with performance...
