    9mm Officer Recoil Spring Questions

    I checked Wolff's website earlier. They don't list anything for a 9mm Officer's Model 1911.

    Front Sight Replacement

The front sight on my Commander broke, and Ruger replaced it at no charge. The replacement has held up very well.

    9mm Officer Recoil Spring Questions

1911Tuner, I had some problems with 3-4% of rounds entering chamber, but hanging up on the top of the chamber. This occurred with different loads and different magazines. After tuning the extractor, and LIGHTLY polishing the chamber. the problem now seems to be resolved. I would still like...

    9mm Officer Recoil Spring Questions

What is the factory spring rating? Is there a source for an extra strength spring?

    Front sight issue Fixed?

I purchased my CMD new in early February of this year. The sight lasted 300 rounds. Ruger replaced the sight on March 12th. It has held up so far, but only 110 rounds have gone htrough the pistol. We'll see!

    Front sight issue Fixed?

My replacement front sight also has a very small amount of clearance. I understand why the heat theory might be valid, but I still suspect the problem was at least in part due to a bad batch of sights from a vendor.

    Montado Ejector Rod Spring

I really enjoy firing my new-to-me .357 Montado. I don't enjoy picking the empties out by hand, however. I noticed that the ejector rod didn't come all the way back, as it does on other Ruger single actions I have fired. The ejector rod spring on the Montado was the same length as on a 4...

    Joined the Front Sight club

I also lost a front sigh to breakage. Ruger provided me with a pre-paid label, got my CMD on Tuesday and had it on it's way back to me on Wednesday of the same week. Hopefully it was a run of defective front sights and the problem has been resolved.

    Front sight issue Fixed?

I bought my SR1911 CMD last month, and after 300 rounds the front sight broke off. I sent it back to Ruger on their dime, and got their usual courteous and speedy service. I hope the replacement sight will prove more durable!

    Redhawk for ccw

+1 to what dougader said. I've carried an Alaskan concealed, but not for a full day, and it was also in late fall in Pennsylvania, and a casual outdoor jacket covered it nicely. A handier and lighter weapon will be less likely to be left at home.

    Range shooting

I've had a need for bifocals for twenty or so years. I prefer the vari-lux type of lens for shooting. By slightly tipping my head I get the proper magnification for whatever focal length is required.

Visual impressions of the LCR confirmed

To each their own. Over the years I've tried S&W "J" frames in both steel and alloy variations, and one Charter Arms, and I never really found one that I really liked. I now have an LCR, and I am very pleased with it. I agree it's ugly, but I carry it concealed anyway!! I also really like...

LCR plus my girlfriend. Ammo issue...

Federal makes a 110 grain HP load in their personal defense line. It's not +P, but seems to be warmer than most standard .38 loads. it's very accurate in my LCR.

O.K.- shot my new LCR today.

I was going to make an almost identical post to this. I also love the revolver, and I also have a "wear mark" on my trigger finger. My only change to what's already posted would be with the load. I fired mostly +P SWC reloads. I also fired some 125 Nyclad HP's, and some 110 gr. Hydra-Shoks...

    Cylinder movement on Security Six

Taking Pinecone's advice, I checked and cleaned the cylinder latch, cylinder latch plunger and cylinder latch spring and their 'tunnel". All was OK. I next went through the trigger group, including the return spring. Next step was a closer examination of the cylinder latch, and it appeared to...
