WTB WTB: XR3 Factory Walnut Grips

I am in search of a set of factory walnut grips for my 1957 Single Six. Please note that these are grips for the "XR3" frame, which Ruger used on its single action revolvers from 1953 through 1962, not the far more prevalent "XR3 RED" frame, which they used from 1963 on to 1972 at least. They...

I'm looking for a set of factory walnut grip for my 1957, and not finding much. Do you know of a source? I need the first generation, XR3 grips. I'm finding plenty of XR3 RED but not much of XR3.

    Ruger grips

Ace is the closest thing remaining today to the old Main Street hardware store that every town had 50 years ago. They have survived in the era of Home Depot and Lowes by staffing themselves with people who generally know hardware.

    Ruger grips

Since you're liquidating grips, would you by any chance happen to have a pair of XR3 walnut? There are for the pre-1963 Ruger single actions; I have a 1957 Single Six. Thanks in advance.

    Single Action Grip Frames Explained

Bill Hamm's explanation truly is about as thorough an overview as one is going to find, and CaryC's simple 3-inch square text is ingenious for cutting through all the distractions. The challenge I've found is often on the grip-seller's end. I know I need grips to fit the XR3 frame on my 1957...

That's a beauty. What's curious is that it has the rounded instead of the flat loading gate. The factory replaced the flat gate with the rounded one in early 1957, around SN 60,000. So, I'm guessing a previous owner must have swapped out the flat gate on yours; maybe he got tired of splitting...
