    Ruger Carry Hawk Value

Thanks! Certainly not a need, but definitely a want. In the end, price is an object.

    Ruger Carry Hawk Value

Greetings! I have run across a Ruger Blackhawk Carryhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible. This was a limited edition Talo model. I don’t know how many were made. It’s used and looks to be in excellent condition. The bore (and probably cylinder) needs a good scrubbing but other than that I don’t...

    Redhawk 357 cylinders

I wouldn't say you can't do it. I think it could certainly be done with success roughly equivalent of the Redhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP, the main difference being you'd obviously have to change cylinders to change calibers in this case. Comments have been made about derogatory accuracy; I certainly...

    Redhawk moonclips?

All the .45 Colt/.45 ACP revolvers are cut for moon clips. If a revolver is only marked ".45 Colt" then it is not cut for moon clips and .45 ACP ammo can't be used in them unless you have the cylinder/ejector cut for moon clips.

    Bisley 5.5 stainless 357

My advice - find a Lipseys Special 5-1/2” barrel and convert it to Bisley. I’ve got one and thinking of doing it myself. Should be quite a bit less expensive than the Accu Sport you’re looking for.

When in Doubt Make Your Own - Mid Frame Bisley in 357?

I've got a mid-frame .357/9mm flattop, and I'm thinking of just buying the parts and converting it. I hadn't considered buying a Bisley and switching parts, then selling the one I didn't want. Worth looking into.

    What's your opinion???

A lot of talk about preferring Bisley and plow handles. Each to his own I say! Personally I prefer Bisley, I just like the way it feels and I shoot it better. I’ve got a .454 Casull 6.5” Bisley, and one that as far as I know is a one-of-a-kind - a 4 5/8” .45 Colt/.ACP convertible that I...

    Moon Clips from TK Custom?

I don’t have a 9mm revolver, but I do have a Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt/ACP. As far as the ACP goes, the Ruger moon clips work just fine and are very easy to load and unload. I would use them exclusively if they weren’t so expensive. I bought some after market clips and a “center knob” (sorry...

    .454 Casull or .480 Ruger

On the subject of relative recoil, I'll throw in my 2 cents worth (from admittedly limited experience). I decided I wanted a .480 and bought a used SBH 6.5" from the want ads on this forum. A very nice gun indeed! I bought some Hornady factory ammo (300 gr @ about 1250 IIRC). Recoil was...

    45 Colt Redhawk?

I found 8 for sale on Gunbroker with a basic search. If you're looking for one, they're out there!

Ruger OM .45 Blackhawk - what would you do?

Personally, I would tell them I want the .45 Colt cylinder at no extra cost (you have already paid for it) or they pay all expenses (return shipping and FFL transfer fee) to return plus a full refund. If they provide the Colt cylinder and want the ACP cylinder back, and if i wanted to keep it...

old model/new model transition 357 blackhawk?

I'm sure that as Ruger transitioned from "Old Model" to New Model that some parts originally intended for the OM's ended up in use on NM's.

Question about NM Blackhawk .45 Colt

I have 2 .45 Blackhawks, one a convertible and one LC only, both New Model. The ACP cylinder does not work in the other gun. It drops in and seems to fit fine, will fire 1 shot then lock up tight. Have to remove the cylinder at that point. I'm not saying you can't find a drop-in cylinder that...

    Redhawk 45 Colt VS 45 ACP/45 Colt ?

David, your definition/explanation does make sense (removable = shroud, non-removable = sleeved). I have previously only heard of "sleeved" barrels as those on shotguns, where the original barrels were unusable for whatever reason and replacement barrels "sleeved" onto the original receiver. In...
