Looking for AL-8 Data For Handgun Loading

The above posted data is from Speer #8 as noted. Number #8 has some very hot loads listed which were tamed down in Speer #9. I tried many loads from #8 and learned to check other sources and start very low. AL-8 is very close to Hercules Blue dot a magnum powder. I won't use BD for 38 special as...

Looking for AL-8 Data For Handgun Loading

Lots of data for the Alcan powders in the older manuals. I don't believe that I ever saw an Alcan specific data book. Used Alcan for shotgun in the 1960's. If you list the bullet weight and type and caliber I'm sure data will appear here. Speer #9 covered Alcan well in their data pages. Bruce 51

    Ruger Vaquero value

Maybe but not for $1800 Yes Yes Has to be more than small If they want them! Sold! No luck required :) The extra cylinder is the main draw for buying. They have a SS 32 H&R but since I already have a Single Seven I'll pass on that one. I have no interest in a 41 BH as the .357 is a do all...

    Ruger Vaquero value

The gun shops here don't negotiate much. I believe that they have been in the shop for a few weeks. I'll keep looking and watch to see if they sell or get a price reduction. I don't really need them and I prefer adjustable sight models. Bruce 51

    Ruger Vaquero value

Since I'm a shooter accumulator I have little need for collectables. Here is more information regarding the two Vaqueros Consecutive serial numbers. Limited production run offered exclusively through Davidsons. They are not listed as NIB. The box is available. If NIB as a collectable the price...

Ruger Single Seven 327 Federal Magnum

Those six shot rotary magazines are down right dangerous.;) All loads were tested with CCI small pistol primers. I sure have had the opportunity to test many brands. CCI first as I have only had two fail out of thousands fired. Bruce 51

    Ruger Vaquero value

I local store has a pair of Vaqueros for sale in 32-20 with an extra 32 H&R cylinder. Barrel is 5.5". Sell price $1800 each. Is this currently a fair price? A quick check on Gunbroker shows Vaqueros at around $800. I know the extra cylinder is hard to find at any price. What do the Ruger...

Ruger Single Seven 327 Federal Magnum

I always just want my firearms to work properly so I can enjoy my range time. When it fires I really do like the weight, feel and accuracy of this SA revolver. Just for giggles I loaded up two 32 SW cases with five grains of FFF under a 100 grain LFN Missouri bullet. Quite the show with a nice...

Ruger Single Seven 327 Federal Magnum

I'm back with an update. Installed the Wolf #17 hammer spring for a range test. Every round fired and not one 32 SWL primer pierced out of forty fired. Twenty two rounds of full power loads fired with zero pierced primers. Twenty eight rounds of mid range loads fired with five pierced primers...

    OM Blackhawk Rear Sight elevator

Brownells sells a replacement screw #780012031 for $6.49. If you need a higher rear sight blade order #780020001. Some older sight blades were flat while the newer sights and blades have a bump to retain the blade during recoil. I found this out when the new blade arrived and I had to grind off...

    A little nostalgia…

Ok I'll play as this thread has a bit of WWII nostalgia. A few things from the memory box. Mom and Dad's HS rings. Service bars with army of occupation star. Wings but a flight engineer not a pilot was in transport planes. A bracelet made in the philippines the rest just 1940 and 50's. My dad...

    Security 9 jams

Make sure that your grip is tight. Your hand is providing resistance for the frame and slide to function. Otherwise known as limp wristing. Be sure all cartridges are always pushed to the back of the magazine. Read the manual about proper lubrication of the slide and other moving parts. Feel...

    A little nostalgia…

Nice display I keep a few things on the shelf as well. An old rotary phone and a six transistor radio, grandma's box camera and other momentos. Was carrying a silver dollar a thing to do back when our parents were part of the greatest generation? Because my dad also carried one dated 1922 year...
