    Charter Arms 44

I carry a 3 inch nickel Smith and Wesson 29. Bigger and heavier, but packs a real punch.

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

I find pinned and recessed Smith and Wessons to be great handguns. I find they have better trigger pulls than Rugers. I also find that the SW Target grips fit my hand perfectly. Rugers are built heavier and I would say stronger but they do not fit my hand and the action feels heavy and is not as...

Semi Auto Bear Defense!!! Whoda Thunk!!!

Not this guy, give me a shotgun with black magic slugs. If I have to use a handgun, I will choose my .500 SW.

Meet the 5 Best Concealed Carry Semiautomatic Guns

Well, I still carry my 3 inch Smith and Wesson 44 magnum. If I was forced to carry an autoloader, I would dig out my Colt 1911, 45 acp.

    Pros/cons for 9mm vs 357 revolver

This is a no contest for me. I do not own a 9mm anything. Got rid of them all. I have some Smith and Wesson pinned and recessed 27's and 19's and that is the way to go for me.

    Hunting question

Well, I would say good enough. I use the rifle as a hunting gun, not a target gun. Generally hunting with it in thick brush or timber where shots are less than 100 yards (usually less than 50) and the game could be moving. So, a 3 to 4 inch group at 100 yards would be good enough. Especially if...

    Old powder

I use 4831 and others from the 80's. As long as you have properly stored it, it is fine. Same with primers by the way, I have cci's marked $19.99 a thousand.

    Ruger rifles I want.

All my Ruger 'want' rifles have already been on the market. A tang safety 77 in 350 Remington Magnum and a RSM in .375 H + H.

    Hunting question

I remove the peep aperture and use the screw in ring as a ghost ring. Then I also have the option of using the rifles sights if needed.

    44 Mag cylinder for a 44-40 Vaquero

If I was going to chamber a cylinder, I would look at buying a .357 cylinder to start with, I think it would be less expensive for the cylinder and easier to find. Otherwise, it would pretty much be the same process.

    Salt Shot?

If I have to shoot someone entering the home and threatening my family, It will be buckshot not salt and I have a 3.5 inch 10 gauge waiting not a 12. If you want salt, I would recommend you look at this... rock salt and pepper...

Ammo Getting Easier To Come By?

depends on what you are shooting. 35 Remington, 300 H + H and 50-110 are all unobtanium and even cases to load your own are very hard to find.

    45LC loads for SW 25-5

I run the same loads as a Colt 1873 in mine, no hot loads at all. If I need more power I have several Smith and Wesson 44 magnums and a .500. No need to damage a fine revolver.

    44 Mag cylinder for a 44-40 Vaquero

The fitting of an extra cylinder on the 44 mag. was easy. I bought an unchambered cylinder from Brownell's and gave it to a local gunsmith for boring and fitting. There is an easier way to do it, here you can buy a drop in cylinder. http://rugercyl.com/ On my 44-40 Vaquero it was easier and...
