US Navy warship commander mocked for holding rifle with scope mounted backward

I stand corrected. I was unaware of that type of scope/mount setup most probably due to its beyond my wallet price. It still baffles me the sheer number of personnel who should know better but yet didn’t know or didn’t care. My most humble apologies to all. I am truly saddened that my Navy...

I say that, for whatever reason, that photo has been manipulated. Take a look at the mounting. Where are the rings? The the mount looks like it is a one piece base but the scope appears to have been mounted from the left side. How many scopes have you seen the the mount screws directly into...

    What lucky guy😄

Is it safe to fire .38 rounds out of a .357, or will it damage the revolver?

Well I doubt we will get a good ending as I also doubt that “ammo hound” will be back after being “politely “ insulted.

i think what Hobby Gunsmith was trying to get at was that the bullet from a 38 spl cartridge has to travel farther to reach the forcing cone. Some believe this degrades accuracy a bit. I have not found this to be generally true.

    Used brass ??

I tried crush walnut shells once. Still have them but the dust that is raised in a vibratory cleaner is something I don’t want to deal with. The cases came out clean but they had to be wiped off. I use the flitz in my corncob though.

    Used brass ??

I also have progressive press and I find that for various reasons I don't use it much. Most probably because my reloading volume is lower than what makes the machine practical for. I use a single stage to deprime my cases before I clean them. I use the old school vibratory tumbler with corn...

I always inspect my brass before loading or storing it, regardless of cleaning method.

    357 Maximum

Knowing what we now know about the performance parameters of the .357 Max, I think Ruger should give it a rethink. Maybe a stainless version this time with a hunter grip frame. Maybe chamber it in the .350 Legend also. I’d buy one or two of each.

    357 Maximum

The Ruger .357 Maximum Blackhawk (Super Blackhawk?) is just a great , fun , good looking six gun! I wanted one back in the day but they got canceled before I could get a hold of one.😔

Yea I'd like to see that setup up close. Especially the chuting and ammo storage. There just isn't a lot of space in the nose of a B-17.

    Masters Of The Air

Yep you are correct! Great idea, but not thought out well. Now if all of the B-17s had been YB-40s then they could have stayed together, but I suspect bomb load would take a hit and overall performance would suffer. I don’t really think that a few of these very special ‘forts, scattered...

    Masters Of The Air

I believe that the standard load out of .50 BMG ammo was on the order of 7000 rounds, give or take. The up armed YB-40s had a load out in excess of 11,000 rds (they had more guns).
