Is watching TV really any different than reading?

While there are a few shows I watch for entertainment it's not the only way I spend my time. I have a lot of interests, and I will read books, watch videos, watch shows, surf the net or find other sources of information to further those interests. Sometimes the TV is background noise while I am...

    Security 380 in NJ?

I have a Security-380 as my CCW. My dealer couldn't get the model with the 2 10 round mags. He simply blocked the 15 round mag at 10 round capacity. He is an ex Chief of Police, so he makes sure that people going through his classes are completely legal and will meet all requirements of the New...

    Squib

Weirdest thing I ever had happen, again with that Federal bulk ammo I don't use anymore, was having the base blown off of the case, leaving the brass cylinder of the rest of the case filling the chamber and causing a failure to feed!

    Squib

Never had a squib, but I did have one round that struck my 10 yard target 15 inches lower than any other. Don't use Federal bulk ammo anymore.

1 Ruger Revolver & 1 Ruger semi auto pistol. If you had to pick one of each to survive.

My Blackhawk .45 Colt should take care of any large, or dangerous, game and my Mark II Competition should keep the pot supplied with small game.

    Winchester model 67

A Model 67 was the first gun I ever had. (Really wish I still had it!) My parents give it to me in 1960, when I was 10. My Mom got it with S&H Green Stamps she had saved from the local Acme! Those were the days.

Help with value of unconverted 45 colt

While I was in boot camp in Pensacola back in 1972, I bought my first gun for myself. (My parents had given me a single-shot .22 at 10 and a 12 gauge pump at 14.) It was a brand new Blackhawk Convertible in .45 Colt/.45 ACP, with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. Of all the guns I've had and let go, that was...

    SR22 Magazine issue

SR22 mags have a follower button, just push down on that a little and the rounds should go in easily. I shoot enough that I use a Hilljak loader to push the button down (as my thumbs would get a little sore over the course of shooting 300 to 500 rounds at a range session). My Mark IIs are easy...

I just bought a Ruger Mark II target

As far as ammunition, I used to use Remington Golden Bullets and Federal bulk stuff when I was young. They haven't been quite as reliable in recent years. Now I use CCI Mini-Mags, especially if I am using in a self-defense or home-defense situation (although my CCW is a Security 380) or...

I just bought a Ruger Mark II target

I believe The Mark II is truly the best of the Mark Series of pistols. I have 4 of them, covering a variety of shooting options. I shoot the slab-side Competition the best because of the longer sight radius and Williams Fire Sights. The Target is the most accurate, because of the Fast Fire red...

Ruger MK IV; target or competition model for accuracy?

Mine are all Mark IIs, but I shoot my Competition model better than my Target or 22/45. It's the longer sight radius of the 6 7/8" Competition over the other two with their 5 1/2" barrels. It's really no contest how much of a difference it makes.

    Something I was wondering about

I don't Remember the officer's name or department, but I do remember the event, and seeing the b0dy-cam footage. Her taser WAS carried on the side opposite her firearm. She had several years service at the time, so there really should have been no confusion, The taser she carried was also bright...

Well a new one on the way ...UPDATE

Congrats, and enjoy. I love mine. I can shoot it almost as fast and as accurately as my SR22, which I had thought of carrying. That idea changed when the Peoples Democratic Republic of New Jersey finally allowed the rabble to carry a firearm for personal protection, in limited places and under...
