    is small flame cut ok?

As others have said, it's normal. Nothing about which to be worried. I cannot even remember hearing of top strap flame cutting severe enough to compromise the strength of a revolver. Has anybody else heard of such a thing? Now I also own a S&W 500. That revolver has some flame cutting as...

    Favorite Revolver Cartridge -- Poll

I voted 44 Magnum. It is the first revolver I owned and the first I reloaded. Like others, I can load it mild with a 240g slug atop 5g Red Dot or 7.5g American Select or I can load a 300g Speer JSP atop 22g 300MP for a wild load. But if I had to do it all over again, I would go with 45 Colt...

    Lee Dies

The Redding Profile Crimp Die also has a carbide sizing ring and can do the same thing. Iron Mike Golf from the forums casts 255g Keith LSWCs for me sized to .432. When ran through the PCD, I notice very faint marks from the sizing ring. However, that does not affect their accuracy in my gun...

Oh, and as others will say, so I will say. You WILL NOT save money reloading What you will do is make 3-4 times the amount of handloads for the same amount of money as you would spend on X number of factory loads. :)

    Lee Dies

Rick, when I first started, I found that between my Federal, Winchester, and MagTech 44Mag brass I collected, I was anywhere between 1.267 and 1.278 in length! The Magtechs were all about .010 shorter than the Winchesters and Federals. However, I was reluctant to toss over 100 pieces of brass...

It is not THAT essential. As long as your cases are all the exact same length (probably not more than .001-.002 in sized length), the seater die can easily be adjusted to perform both operations. Where you can run into is when there is a large variance in case lengths and are doing roll...

44 Magnum Reloading for Revolvers and Rifle- Advice Welcomed

    I get great results using 15.0g HS6 with a 240g jacketed bullet and 14.5g HS6 with a 255g LSWC in my SRH.

ruger 44 magnum redhawk or super redhawk? which do you like

I own a SRH and I will agree it's not the prettiest gun to view. I was unable to find a RH in 5.5" I did find a 7.5" hunter as well as a 7.5" SRH at a gun show, both NIB. I chose the SRH due to the better trigger. One thing though. Be it the RH or the SRH, they both look good as you look...

    Stainless steel revolvers,Your thoughts?

Even though I don't own any SA revolvers, I have to admit that in my opinion, a stainless SA revolver just doesn't look as good as a blued one. I only own two DA revolvers and they are both stainless. Since I often prefer to remove the burn marks from the front face of the cylinder with a lead...

    Here we Go Again

To me, hoarding is going out and buying 50,000 rounds or so of 22LR at one time. Seriously? That's panic buying. Buying 10,000 or more primers at a time? Now building stock in a non-hoarding fashion is buying a little extra over and above what you consume. Say you shoot 1 brick of 22LR per...

    Influx of new reloaders

It's going on an adventure to hunt ANY component down because of the utter stupidity of the morons and their panic buying. Who would have ever thought we would see a shortage of Alliant Reloder25???

    Want to switch pistol powders

Have you considered American Select? It is a nice fluffy powder and is a bit bulkier than Universal/Unique. It also burns quite clean and is in the same general burn rate as Titegroup. I gave American Select a try in my P90 as an alternative to Titegroup and was very impressed with the...

mini -14 primers ,any slam fires?

As long as you seat your primers properly (meaning ever so slightly beneath the face of the primer pocket), you will not get a slamfire. That only seems to happen when the the primer is slightly higher than the face of the primer pocket. Proper seating depth is about .004 below the face. But...

Metal Shavings After Cleaning LCR .22?

I doubt you ruined it. The 22LR ammo is way softer than any barrel steel it will ever encounter. What color is the shavings? I am wondering if it could even be leading? If it is leading, the Hoppe's Elite is a stronger cleaner and will be more aggressive at removing fouling than #9.

    Lee "Micro Disk"

For loads that small, I would probably just use a trickler directly into the scale in lieu of small dippers.
