Flatgate, Carl Laco called home to the lord...

RIP, flatgate. Don't know him personally but I did make a friend here on the Ruger forum, whose name is also Carl. We kinda lost contact for a long time too (I haven't logged into the forum for ages), will try to get in touch again. Life is short... :)

    lc9s max sights

Probably not. LCP Max sights are compatible with Bodyguard. I haven't read anywhere that LC9s shares sights with the Bodyguard... 8)

    FN Hi-power, good/bad?

CDNN's Jan. 11th email flyer listed four Hi-Powers. The two black plastic gripped ones, the 75th Anniversary edition one is priced at $699.99 (#BRO051037393). The one without the 75th Anniversary edition marking, is listed "too low to print" (##BRO051002393). The other two are the same 75th...

LCP worn every day for a year............

Got my LCP in August of '09, carried everyday since, in a cheap $10 pocket holster. I don't think I've seen any rust, or any slide finish wear that can be easily seen. Lint is visible, but I just shot them off at the range. Dropped a set of Wolff extra power recoil springs in it last year, it...

    What Were You Hoping For?

I was hoping for a Ruger version of Kahr PM9, comparable dimensions and weight (shave the extra 4 oz. off the SIG P290), and NOT adding any of unsafe lawyer "safety features". Guess Ruger thought differently...

New Ruger LCP, clean it before 1st use?

I didn't. I guess I got an itch and want to see my new gun jam at one point or another. So I always take my new pistols (Rugers, Glocks, HK, Beretta, etc.) to the range and see if they'd choke within the first 50 rounds of cheap balls. So far the only gun I remember putting some lube on (but...

LCP .380 problem. WILL NOT chamber the bullet??

You are right. I was saying that, for the LCP with the original factory springs, one has to be really snappy with the slide when chambering the first roung in a slingshot way. If the bullet head touches the feed ramp before you release the slide, it'd get stuck, with full strengh of the springs...

Does the SR9 have a second strike capability?

Sure, I'm just saying how I perceive it, that DA or double action, when it first came out on P38 (if I'm not mistaken), is to help the user with first shot, so pre-cocking the hammer is not necessary. It includes the single action part in its concept. DAO is DA guns with hammers can't stay...

LCP .380 problem. WILL NOT chamber the bullet??

I bought my LCP in August of '09 (serial # 372-something), and I had the EXACT same issue/observasion. I use Winchester WWB 95gr truncated FMJ. When chambering a round, if I let go the slide fast, let fly home, it would go without hitch. But if I let it return slowly, the bullet head would...

Does the SR9 have a second strike capability?

If my memory serves me right, Walther is the first to make a striker fired pistol that is true DA (I don't call them DA/SA, as a real DA pistol can shoot SA by default, from the second shot on). And their decocking device is also a first, a flat button sitting on top of the slide, so nothing...

Does the SR9 have a second strike capability?

Walther P99/P99AS is another real DA pistol, so it has second strike capability...

Rubber grips on 4-inch Redhawk ...

Mine was the Exactly the same story. Got the 4" 44mag, hate the grips. The finger grooves tried to put my little finger much more south than I wanted. Looked up and down the Internet, found that Pachmayr Presentation was pretty much the only rubber grips that didn't have finger grooves. It...

    My new LCP .

I've used this for the last two years: http://www.concealmentconceptsholsters. ... lster.html Works pretty well, and pretty cheap, too. I also put Wolff 12# recoil springs in mine. It used to hang (the bullet nose got stuck on the feed ramp) when slowly releasing the slide to chamber a round...

I figured I'd dust off one of the Gold Cups

Actually, I bought my Colt 1991 Series 80 for exactly this reason: firing pin block. I like my Glock and Ruger. I have to have the firing pin block since I believe in that, if I don't pull the trigger, the gun must not fire(not even some remote potential). I don't mind my P89's trigger. And...
