I like H4227 for all-around use in the 45 Colt.

Kinda makes me wonder what’s happened on the inside.

Can’t go wrong with 4227 if you can find some. It’s my 45 Colt “go-to” powder in everything from a SAA to a M83 FA. Shot some yesterday.

I have the 6-hole version of a similarly configured JRH in stainless. This gun is nicer than mine … and mine is outstanding in every way. Good luck with your sale, Marshall. I know you must hate to let this one go.

My grandmother used to say, “If you hang long enough you will get used to it.” I think the same kinda applies to any decent gun/holster combo. To illustrate … how many times has your wife (or chiropractor) asked how you can sit on a wallet that’s two inches thick? Ha!

Based on the use of similar loads in my revolvers you should get about ~900 fps out of that load.

I hasn’t been that long ago that I tried to give away (actually the cost of a flat rate USPS box) a bunch of once fired, mixed headstamp 5.56 brass on this forum and had no takers. Times have changed. Since I couldn’t give it away I loaded it up and bought a new Wilson Combat AR to shoot it.

I have some beautiful Rugers customized by several of America’s best ‘smiths. But, if I had to pick just one out of my safe, it would be the plain Jane 1967 Single-Six my dad gave me new when I was 13 years old. That one holds a special place in my heart.
