Ruger SR1911 Officers Model holster question

Thanks Cholo. I wasn't sure if these particular holsters were tapered or crimped at the toe while still being "opened" toed or not. I'm kinda new with concealed carry and holsters. Thanks again for the reply.

Ruger SR1911 Officers Model holster question

Will leather holsters designated for a Colt Officers Model with 3.5 inch barrel work for the 9mm Ruger SR1911 Officers Model with a 3.6 inch barrel? Will the extra tenth of an inch prevent it from seating properly in the holster. I'm particularly interested in the Galco Avenger or the Galco...

    Ruger flattop Bisley 44 special

Thanks Single-Sixer for answering my questioning. You've been very generous to take the time and the info is helpful. I'm not too far from Hamilton Bowen's shop and think I will pursue one of his front sight blades. As you say, on the stainless they're pinned and should be fairly simple to...

    Ruger flattop Bisley 44 special

Single-Sixer, is the stainless flattop in your last picture a 44 special also? Are the front and rear sights on it also from Bowen? If so, are the rears the Rough Country or Target model? What height is your front sight? Did you replace the original sight because you couldn't get the gun...

    Faux Ivory Maker ID?

I recently purchased simulated ivory grips from Boone Trading Co. and am more than pleased. I got mine aged with Ruger blackhawk (black on silver) medallions installed. Look and feel are great, like real ivory not like plastic from some other sources that I've seen.

Stainless 44 special Flattop shooting high

I contacted Ruger by email and they responded suggesting I return the gun. I've never had to return a gun, but have heard stories of others doing so and getting their gun back scratched up or otherwise damaged. At this point I'm somewhat reluctant to do so. And opinions? Also thought of...

So what makes a Blackhawk shoot too high?

jimbo1096, I have the same gun and essentially the same problem although mine is 2 inches high at 25 yards with the rear sight bottomed out. I got on the Ruger website stated my problem and a question regarding availability of a taller front site blade (these are pinned and replaceable on this...

Stainless 44 special Flattop shooting high

My stainless Ruger 44 special Flattop with 4 5/8 inch barrel is shooting approximately 2 inches high at 25 yard using the Skeeter load. The rear sight bottomed out. The measured velocity is 975 fps. Am I correct in thinking that a deeper or lower rear sight notch and/or a taller front sight...

    Bisley Vaquero simulated ivory grips

I ordered the Boone Trading Co. simulated ivory for my .44 special flattop and am extremely happy. Very nice! I got mine with black eagle medallions installed and aged.

Have more TALO SS Flattop 44spl's been made recently?

Kraig, does your new SS 44 special have the 521 prefix on the serial number? How does it differ from your first one, if at all? By the way, that sounds like a fantastic price. Congratulations.

Have more TALO SS Flattop 44spl's been made recently?

I just received my SS Flattop 44 spy from Davidsons. It also has the 521 prefix, not the 520 prefix of the early production. Are these different in someway to warrant the new prefix? Would the fact that they do not now have the internal lock warrant the new prefix? I know and can feel the...

If they are they are "dead," any speculation of the future collector interest and value?

    Gold Label value

Thanks Nh Rugerman. I would like to see them in production again and particularly in 20 ga with appropriately sized frame. Agree that the price will likely be high. The originals were a lot of gun for the money in my opinion.
