    Wheel Weights

My cardiologist limited me to 50# max these days so my cleaning of cow goes slower than usual. I estimate I have 2500# to sort thru , 27 5 gal buckets. Will probably yield 50% of useable lead. All it takes is time & propane !!! LAH , the tin/antimony content looks hi in those ingots , maybe...

    30-30 cast bullet loads

Mine likes (just as nimrods)310 boolits & 8gr reddot , I didn't ever try anything faster but these sure were accurate in my 336 !! & recoil was nill to nothing. GP

    Wtb Marlin39a

Good Luck !!! I found a short 1 at a gunshow to match the full 1 800$$, bit hi for me but the gun was in the 90 percentile. GP

    GP100 Reassembly Issues

I`ve had 3 GPs that I had to remove the plunger & smooth up the surface where it meets the frame. Maybe even removed a bit of material ??. But certainly clean all apparent burrs first . May I suggest disassembling the trigger group completely to see if it fits& if not then you can clean it up...

Is cylinder reaming necessary for average shooter?

My forcing cones are the factory angles & as I remember we opted to leave em the same angle but cut em just enuff to smooth em out as they were ruff as a cobb. An angled cutter head was used & worked it thru the muzzle , stopping each turn to clear the blades of shavings, now they`re smooth &...

Is cylinder reaming necessary for average shooter?

Different caliber but here`s my take on truing the cyl throats & cleaning up the forcing cone. 6" GP100 , good shooter 2.5 " at 25 with jacketed & just a bit better with 359" lead & lead to clean out after 25 rounds as accuracy would drop off a bit . Reamed the throats & cleaned up the forcing...

    Crimp ?

For consistent (roll) crimp trimming cases is a must , taper not so much. I personally load mostly my own cast boolits & seat then roll crimp in a separate operation to keep from deforming the meplat & oglive AKA nose of the boolit & even on the few jacketed I load . If you seat & crimp in the...

Cast bullets labeled .358" 180gr. TC, but weigh 170?

Shooting lead I worry more over dia. of the boolit than the weight . Cast size/lube then load accordingly. You`re safe using loads for 180 lead boolit loads NOT jacketed bullets !! Lead seals the chamber & barrel better & using starting jacketed loads will put you at or the least close to max...

    Lilgun or.....

Well ifin ya wanna try summutin different , it`s like trying to meter corn flakes but I own a Redhawk that loves a Keith swc from wheel weights & IMR800x. For max fps stick with the small grain stuff & as hot a primer you can find. My alloy gives up & starts skidding `bout 1k fps but the...

    Fed up with Mixed Brass

Lets back up a bit ! What problems are you having?? Seating problem ??? Accuracy problem??? Chambering problems??? I used to trim everything ! reason was the inconsistent roll crimp was causing #1 chambering problems on long cases. #2 wide SDs over the chrony ultimately affecting accuracy &...
