I bought my newest single six in 1980. It was 159.00 brand new at the stockade in orange California. I can’t believe it when I see used ones going for 4 to 600 dollars. Bought my blackhawk .45colt/ 45acp in 2018 for 500.00 and some change . its Crazy now .
I have a 1974, 1977 and a 1980 4 5/8” 5.5” 6.5” all new models , all came with two cylinders , all bought new . None have fluted cylinder in .22wmr. Only the .22lr cylinders are fluted.
Well my old eyes have me leaving the Vaqueros in the safe most days and shooting the BH as I can see the sights (front ramp painted orange ) a whole easier . I love my Colt SAA’s and My Vaqueros. But again I’m have much better results with the BHsights
a friend of mine had an OM done at Wyoming Armory. It is stunning with case color frame and beautiful bluing. A lot more than 139.00 though. But I’m sending an old model single six to them.
Right, I can’t find a new in box 5.5” vaquero stainless ot a new model BH 6.5” stainless in .357. I’ll keep looking. there Is a gun show in Tucson in a couple weeks. I’ll check there.
It would be a hard choice between my 3 screw Blackhawk In 6.5” .357, or my 10/22 sporter. Probably the Blackhawk would win out. But dang why just one 😞
