I deliberately bought one box of every .380 auto ammo I could find and the Ruger LCP Max never had one single hiccup. I have the 13 lb spring in there as well as a as guide rod but it is the most reliable gun I own and is 1 of 2 EDC guns I have.
I pocket carry the LCP Max in an Alabama Holster. The holster has a ledge your thumb pushes down on while the gun gun comes. The holster never leaves your pocket. The perfect pocket combination.
Thanks for your Reply.
With regard to the Kel-Tec, should one assume that after, let's say, 5000 rounds, the gun should be removed from your "reliable" carry rotation?

I believe this is the million dollar question. Is there data anywhere, on folks who have put 5,000 or more rounds though their LCP Max? I'd really be interested in knowing. My LCP Max is my EDC and I...
I made only two modifications to my LCP Max, both from MCarbo. I bought and installed the Take-down Pin and the stainless steel guide rod.
Last Saturday at the range I fired 50 rounds, for a grand total of 550 totally flawless rounds. I purchased every brand of .380acp ammo I could find and...
I've put about 400 rounds through my LCP Max, and because of the size I keep my attention at full throttle. If I don't, then I'm off to the sides or wherever. Bottom line; The size and weight require a good shooter to exercise patience and attention. Those fantastic sights help a lot, too.
Welcome to the Forum. The LCP Max is a double action only semi-auto. There is no half-cock position of the hammer, which can be seen in the firing position when a round is in the chamber. I believe the gun is considered double action as there is travel distance for the trigger before every...
So this happened to me and I called Ruger and they told me that the problem was fixed; apparently there was a defect in the extractor spring which caused the slide not to fully go into battery. I got some new parts from them and the problem was fixed.
If anything has gotten me back to weekly trips to the range, it's this gun. I have about 400 rounds though mine and not one FTF or other problem. The slide locks back on an empty magazine and the gun functions flawlessly. Kudos to Ruger on this one. As I've said elsewhere, customer service is...
