    Mis-marked Toklat

I am kind of kicking myself for not buying the TOLKAT. I did find a post from February (this year) of a guy that has one. https://rugerforum.net/pistols-revolvers/368469-i-m-new-here-proud-owner-new-toklat-today-when-i-got-home-i-cleaned.html

    Mis-marked Toklat

Was just at the nearby LGS. Looked at a NIB #5517. Left side was marked TOLKAT. Serial was 553-low 1000’s. They had 2 others NIB marked correctly (TOKLAT) with serial numbers about 60 higher. Box and associated contents looked proper. I decided not to buy the mis-marked one. The LGS did...

    Lost focus in dominant eye

I appreciate all the replies and advice. I agree about the depth perception and also the left right position of the front fenders. I live in an area where the neighborhood roads are three cars wide, and people park on both sides. It is also fun to go through the tunnel that is two lanes wide...

    Lost focus in dominant eye

I have always been strongly left handed, left eye dominant and somewhat far sighted. Recently, i had two locations in my left eye where the retina tore and detached. Went through laser re-attachment and am released to go back to life with no doctor imposed restrictions. But, the vision in my...

Redhawk 4" with non-pinned front sight?

the history of my just purchased 2004 dated unit is totally unknown. Condition appears to be very low round count. Jeff Quinn published a 4" review in January 2007 with a pinned barrel. Shooting Times published a 4" review in 2011 with a pinned barrel. Gun Tests published a 4" review in...

Redhawk 4" with non-pinned front sight?

I previously owned a 4" Redhawk, and it came with the Hogue grips and a pinned front sight. I do not remember when it was manufactured. Made a mistake selling it. I just got another 4" Redhawk and it has the spring loaded front sight and wood grips. I'm certain this is a factory 4", since...

    Moon clipped my .45 Redhawk

Sold my 4" Redhawk 44, and miss it a lot. Local private sale has a SRH Alaskan in 454 casull and obviously 45LC. Now I See a factory 4" RH in 45ACP w/moon clips and 45LC is available. Can't buy both, and am focused on hardware that fits 45ACP and 45LC, but like the idea of an Alaskan. Think...

    Well, I finally did it....

I love my 3" GP. I suspect you will love your SP. Many of us may think like a gun writer . . . . there is no gun we don't like!

    What is it about them?

I cannot explain it, but I agree. When i saw the SR1911 for the first time, it was just lust. I had never paid attention to the 1911 platform prior to that. Love the look and feel. Mine shoots excellent too.

    Magazine release binding

My SR1911 mag release will bind on the magazine if I push it in too far. It contacts the non-slot side of the mag. This makes the mag not drop free, unless I release some pressure, allowing the mag release to retract a small amount. This happens with Ruger, CMI, Colt, and Wilson mags. A new...

    Sunsonic ammo in SR22

I have shot sub-sonics out of a Walther P22 with and without can with no troubles. Have an occasional cycle issue in a Buckmark. No troubles in a SR22.

Tell me more about the SR1911...why is it a better platform?

The Ruger does not have the Firing Pin safety like a Series 80 Colt. That was important to me. Less mechanical things that have to move to work.
