    Open Carry

I see both sides. Certainly open carry is a better deterrent, and cops won't shoot you on sight like they have with concealed. Also slightly quicker access. For me it makes the most sense. However I do not dismiss Mobuck's statements lightly. If one is going to OC, one must stay sharp and...

    What’s your bedroom gun?

Shockwave next to the door now. A bit of a change from the pistol, but times have changed- at least in my area- for the worse.

WTB 20 ga coach gun options

Mossberg Shockwave is already short enough. I have the 20 gauge version and like it. Might work for you.

Mark I, II, III & IV

My very first handgun was a Mark I ( BTW- Didn't they just call the first a "Marksman" when it came out? Can't remember.) I loved the feel, loved the accuracy. Unfortunately I found it to be the worst jammer I have ever owned. I ended up selling it back to the dealer at a loss ( I did...

Why You Should Carry a Knife Instead of a Gun for Self-Defense

No criticism taken, as I wasn't clear. I should have said " When I carry throwers" which is maybe half the time, and mostly just 3 in a leg sheath when I do. I live in NJ, and the CCW laws are not only spotty, but change almost daily. Can't always carry a firearm everywhere. One big...

Why You Should Carry a Knife Instead of a Gun for Self-Defense

Actually I am, and a knife thrower always carries 3-6 throwers in a sheath. Below is a grouping from 15 feet ( length of my shop). I could do the same at 18, but I won't claim to be a "21 foot" guy. There would be some spread. They would definitely stick though. These are light practice...

Why You Should Carry a Knife Instead of a Gun for Self-Defense

I always wear a pocketed vest. When a firearm is prohibited, I have a cane, tactical pen, a stun gun, pepper spray, AND a knife. I have had what looks to be the same training as yourself- minus the sword- and since we are capable of using almost anything as a weapon, why not have as many...

Semi Auto Bear Defense!!! Whoda Thunk!!!

Did you clean and eat it? Just to fly into the ointment, I spend a good amount of the year in bear country. I have found that UDAP bear fogger has worked each time I used it, and has a 25 foot range without wind. No noise, no mess, no 'splainin' to do.

    Chinese knives

Funny thing about that. I have 2 Chinese knives. One is a full tang Case knock-off and the other is a small folder. I have had the Case knock-off ( No fake label, it's just almost identical to an actual Case that I own.) for 10 years and it looks almost new. The steel is actually too hard, in...

    Ruger LCP--hard to rack

This is surprising, assuming that this a Lite Rack?

    22 caliber "kitguns"

Not a fan of the gun, but am a HUGE fan of that knife!

    22 caliber "kitguns"

In the town where I grew up the police used to carry .38s but a couple witnessed them bouncing off a windshield on their makeshift range, they switched out- but I don't remember what replaced them.

Two new 22LR rounds from CCI: Uppercut 22 LR & Clean-22 Hyper Velocity

Not quite right in regard to hollow points. "sportsman may transport and use hollow point ammunition. There are no restrictions preventing a sportsman from keeping such ammunition at his home. N.J.S.A 2C:39-3f(1) limits the possession of hollow nose ammunition" . As long as you claim that you...

    22lr carry for defense??

When it comes to defense, most actions occur within a few feet, not 100 yards. Like using a shotgun for home defense. It could be loaded with sand, but ar 5 or 6 feet there is no spread- still make a solid hole. .22LR is as good as anything else at that distance.
