    Fair market value

In the 90s, I had an uncle that lived in a small town. He did not have a FFL but took a truck load of firearms to the local gun show several times a year. I had a few guns to sell and spend the weekend there. All of the guys selling at inflated prices including my uncle. None were gun shops...

New shoulder rig for my 1911

I ordered a Diamond D chest rig. My N frame .41 mag has a 6 inch barrel. Wanting a over clothing holster when out on the ATV or even driving a vehicle, but a hip holster would be impractical with the large revolver. In my case I ruled out leather due to gun/holster being exposed to whatever...

Ruger Mini-30 with 185 serial number

The first several years of production of mini-14s, they had wooden upper handguards not plastic like in the photo. I don't know what year they changed to plastic. I had one and when they came out in a few years later SS, I got one of those the year they came out. Can't remember if the SS had...

    Sp101 4 in.

You might look for a pocket gun to carry in a pocket. Thats not a pocket gun. Even a J frame S&W round butt with 2 inch fits in my front pocket. It's not easy to sit with a firearm that big in there. Cargo pocket might work.

Mounting the Picatinny or Weaver Rail (To Locktite, YES)

Normally a correct torque using a gauge works wonders. I did use a bit of blue on my 338 RUM and 375 H&H mag. Just because I don't want a hunt ruined by loose mounts., just as a backup. Last year I removed the rail on the 338 and to install the lighter Tally ring/mount. The screws came out with...

    Mini-14 ammo

Ok, I did not think of that bullet. Sorry Wayno. I was thinking of the standard 55gr FMJ.

    Mini-14 ammo

Going with what the poster printed that the manual said. "Standardized US military or factory loaded sporting .223." Ok what the heck does that mean? US military is 5.56mm stamped not .223. No wonder people get confused. I understand the differences between the 2. Wayno got it right, except...

What is your minimum comfort zone for brass stock?

I don't move it around. Just open and scoop out.

What is your minimum comfort zone for brass stock?

I found out a mortar can will hold about 8,000 5.56 cases. 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 acp a 50 cal ammo can full is enough. About 12 other calibers I am loading a 30 cal ammo can full or nearly so is enough.

    22lr carry for defense??

What's somewhat funny with this topic. Myself speaking, I can show/prove why in the world of all calibers used in handguns the .22lr. Is not a good choice and maybe even the worse for use as a self-defense caliber. But others will say it is a good choice. The funny part is those that are on...

    Ruger No1 caliber change

2nd on Wayne who owns Oregunsmithing. About 15 years ago I took a rifle with a Douglas barrel to him, wanting to bore out and rifle it from 33 win to 45-70. He checked it out and said he could do it. He told me then that only a few maybe 6 US gun shops could bore and rifle barrels outside of...
