When your slide won't go all the way back

No, I figured out the Stoeger (edit: and the Ruger on my own) luckily. There was a video on youtube where someone demonstrated (the stoeger). I didn't know it would cause me the angst. My wife's Glock 19, which I cleaned first, was pull trigger- remove slide. A trip to the gunsmith would have...

    Normal wear

That sounds good. I hope this firearm can last that long. I'm looking forward to being at the range after work today to practice. Thanks magpouch for the reply, I appreciate it.

    Normal wear

Thanks Bubba. After I fire another 200- 300 rounds of 9mm ammo I take some new pics to compare. I wish I had studied it from the very start.

    Normal wear

I've put about 300 rounds into my new Security-9 compact over 4 trips to the range. I've noticed some paint wearing off on top of the barrel where the slide rides over it. I admit my first trip to the range was not smooth. By my third and fourth I was without issue. I also had an issue I...

    Small collection just got started.

Very nice. Sounds a little like a s.a.s.s. collection. I'm planning on getting into that. I have to build it one piece at a time, I'm on a budget. Best wishes from NJ.

    I'm late, I'm new, NJ

Yes it is WV. Pages of Forms, fees, personal references, background checks, finger prints, waiting, very limited places to shoot. I feel like I had to stand trial for practicing my rights. It's wrong, and it needs to ease up.

Thanks, you are right! I did buy a shotgun too and I'm eyeing other things. I am interested in collecting little by little. I'll buy something for myself for my birthday later this year I hope.

When your slide won't go all the way back

Thanks guys. There's a little more to it if you are a beginner like me. The hammer will resist, it takes a couple pounds of force to unstick it. It will rotate up and back on it's "axle" and it will click back into place. Someone with experience could probably replicate this problem and...

When your slide won't go all the way back

Long story short, if you pull the trigger on a Security 9 Compact with the slide and barrel off, the hammer might go down and stick. This being my first pistol I didn't know, I'd recently taken down a Glock and you had to pull that trigger. The same thing happened to me with a Stoeger shotgun...

    I'm late, I'm new, NJ

Hello from NJ. I was inspired to join this forum after a problem with my Ruger Security 9 Compact. I was not able to find the best info on the issue but I solved it and just want to help others. I just made my first firearm purchases in my life, I'm in my early 50's. I didn't grow up around...
