The Ruger was not accurate, scoped, the flash at the cylinder was large. Never grouped, the round seems to need more barrel to get speed / accuracy.

Kimber made a 1911 model 17hmr. Was at shop when the buyer was picking one up about 15 years ago. Ruger also made a single action hunter model in 17hmr.

35 Rem is a boom flop Whitetail cartridge. 336 Marlin, best option IME, lightweight, durable, mechanicals are not complicated, and whitetail accuracy with factory Rem 200gr corelokts. A lot to like as an option.
