Sounds awful pricy to me . the Buckeyes were in .32 caliber , and .40 for 10 mm , 38-40 . they were dealer ordered with the option with sorta matching serial numbers .
I have a good one , when choose'n powders , always pick the ones that fill the case More than half way , no double charges , and better shot to shot fps . An other learned the hard way is NEVER make a dumb ie with a live primer only spent ones .
I have 2 550b s and have been reloading before Dillon was selling presses . I have a Lee classic as well . It does .50 BMG , and the reform chores . I started with a Lee hand press and have 2 , and still use them too . A re-loader needs ALL of these , or equivalent . Dillon is my work horse ...
Ronson Ruger did indeed make a blue SBH 5.5 with a round trigger gard ala blckhawk . I'd call and see if they will do it if they have the parts . jbntx ruger made no 5.5 bisleys in blue only an Acusport special run s and some clean up guns in ss . IF I remember right .
gasmandave Yes , I do fill a cylinder full with Pyro on my ROA . shoots good ! I use a wonder wad under the ball , and still get all of it in . I believe I have been using Hornady .456 pure lead balls . I also cast in a Lee 2 cavity rb and rn obsolete . Serial number 1 , must be a 200 year gun ...
I've been on the Bisley kick ever since the started production . A couple of .22 1 driftable ,1 adjustable , 1 .32 6.5 " barreled , single sixes were only 6.5" . A couple of .44s .45s 1 .357 1 .41 .
If memory serves me 20 gr is a sneeze load . 34 was nice , and 40 was near full power . That said I prefer the pyro " load it full " wad it , stuff a ball , cap N shoot . no fuss about measuring . Volume load is the same every time , and with pyro it will compress enough to get it all in far...
I've been a think'n about a rifle that would be a good'n . How about a Rossi / Tarus / Brastech .22 pump upgraded to .327 Fed . ? TAKE DOWN ...Stainless or Blue .. A .22 lr and .22 mag have been produced already and they work well , .32 H&R /.327 would be a winner . I'd take either or both if...
I've got one of each barrel size and while they are not perfect , I believe I got more than my moneys worth . I am pleased , and will continue to praise , and spend my money with Ruger .
