Miss the good old days. My dad bought a 1894C 357 Mag at Kmart for $179 plus tax in Dec 1980. I came home on leave a week later and they were on sale for $169 plus tax. Bought one, should have bought a bushel basket of them in hindsight. Already had the 1894 44 Mag for a few years. Love...
The mainspring strength and the radius on the bottom of the firing pin stop are main contributors to initial slide racking force. In 1911 JMB's design had a .078" radius. Around 1918 the Army changed it to .219" to make racking the slide easier. However, the easier it is to rack the slide the...
I have a Corbin manual cannelure tool, works good and is durable. Had a CH4D, it wore out. If I use a Lee factory crimp die, the collet style not the carbide insert version, I don't need cannelure on the bullet.
Manufacturers may not be calling attention to the new, lower weight, but when they increase the weight in a package they certainly are not shy about calling attention to that.
MidwayUSA has at least one, I am sure some others have one too. Whatever one you choose get one that headspaces on the case mouth, not the semi-rim. I believe the stock spring for 1911 38 Super is 14 lb, but I am not certain.
I have 1976 - 1977 SBH and convertible 357 BH where I replaced the alloy ERH, matches the frame color much better. On my BH I also aquired and installed a SBH steel Dragoon grip and hammer. Feels much better in the hand.
I had my 9mm cylinder reamed to the Bain & Davis over 40 years ago. If you keep the cylinders and brass free from any oil and POLISH any toolmarks around the firing pin recoil plate, locking up the cylinder from setback can be nearly eliminated. It also helps if you keep the pressure levels...
I have one, you can shoot full house 357s all day very comfortably. Whoever buys this will have a very strong revolver.
I found a second cylinder/crane assembly on eBay, had it re-chambered to 357/44 Bain & Davis.
You probably have a 24V series D, can find some info on over at:

I have a 24V Series D .223 Rem over 20 Ga and another set of barrels in 357 Mag over 20Ga, though I reamed it out to 357 Max.
This plethora of "boutique" cartridges with their esoteric advantages is great for those wanting some real or perceived advantage over the established cartridges, but most lack in being widely available or relatively affordable. Even the parent cartridge, the 375 Ruger, is a rare sight on the...
Best of luck in your search, I have one and it is an absolute pleasure to shoot with even the heaviest handloads, but it is not going anywhere. They occasionally show up on Gunbroker or GunAuction though the 7-1/2" seems a little more common, at least when you are looking for 5-1/2" version...
