I have been loading 147gr Oregon Trail laser cast bullets. Shooting them in a SR9C and a Marlin Camp 9. The load I use is from Lyman #49 in pistol and rifle loads. It is an awesome round the Oregon Trail bullets are 22 bhn so they are hard enough. Pistol shoots right a 1050fps and the rifle...
I like them as I know for sure when there is a round in the chamber.
Everybody to his own choice but I still like them. You never can be too safe.

Had light trigger strike on 9 rounds out of 50 on my LC9 at range yesterday. I took the same nine rounds and put them thru my SR9c and they fired fine.
Called Ruger in Arizona and the immediately sent me a shipping form to return the pistol to them. I got the form within and hour and I...
Egad,
I remember when I was a kid in the late 40's and early 50's the only gun to carry for hunting was a S&W .357mag. I believe the hunters took it all over the world and took about ever game there was to take. Probably needed to be a good shot. Now if you don't take a 105mm howitzer you...
I don't know what the complaint was about but everytime I contacted BB they were very customer oriented and helped me as much as possible. Maybe somebody got up on wrong side of bed.

63 November,
Thanks for the reply, the load I was using was one I had developed for my 1895 45-70 which really likes the 32grs of IMR 4198. I have shot that particular load in several rifles and they all liked it. I guess I need to look at something else like 322. I go into the load books...
Took my new No.1 45-70 to range to shoot some Oregon Trail Cast 405 gr LFN bullets. Got quite a shock at 100yds @1450fps it was shooting everywhere. The bullet diameters are .459 and should shoot well. I had loaded some 405gr JFN's and they shot fine first one dead center bull and the next...
Why in the world didn't Ruger put a decent slide release on the SR9c? The springs are so strong when the slide catches after the last round with a magazine replacement all you do is tear up your hands letting it go. Have pinched my hands at least three times because there wasn't any...
I don't think it has a funky trigger mine shoots really well. Recoil is mild, gun is accurate, feeds well no jams yet after 200rds. Did have one primer failure but I beat the devil out of it and it wouldn't fire. I then put it in my Camp 9 with the monster hammer and it still didn't fire. So...
Haven't been using any +P ammo in my LCP but it stlll stings the devil out of my hand. About 15 rounds is all I can take. The factory recoil sping is only 9 lbs so I looked on Wolff Springs to see what they had. They had a eleven pound recoil spring plus a twelve and thirteen lb heavy spring...
I'll never shoot it unless I got to go to Africe. I now hafta shoot low to medium rounds and the kick would be detrimental to my back.
I was just curious about the round as I had never heard of anyone ever shooting it. I might try the 300gr for deer or hog hunting but nothing bigger.

Barnes has a 400gr Original SP that they rate for anything from deer to cape buffalo in the Ruger No.1 in 45-70. Has anyone here ever used this bullet its a little expensive but if it is rated for cape buffalo then it must be something else.

No matter how hard you try you can't make a .308 into a 30-06. If it was me and I picked up a No.1 in 30-06 I would leave it alone. You can shoot 240gr Woodleigh core bullets out of a 30-06. Thats about as heavy as you can get. You won't be able to take tanks out but pretty close.
