Holy Moly! I thought the FA guns were expensive when I ordered my .454/45ACP years ago. I hadn't looked at a FA price list lately, didn't realize they had risen to the price levels they are now. And a two year wait?
I enjoyed the video, and don't really have a gripe with it. I've shot and loaded my share of .357 and 10MM. I've had .357 revolvers and carbines, along with 10mm revolvers and semi-autos. To me, the cartridges are in the same performance class. FWIW, I've chronographed Buffalo Bore 180...
I've enjoyed the occasional BBC cop and detective shows. Story lines are routinely quite good. They have to be, since they can't routinely show shootouts, explosions, etc.
FWIW, I was once assigned to show a visiting British police officer around our unit. In talking with him, he indicated...
I only wish I had that level of woodworking skill.
Lipofsky, The box you asked about sure looks very similar to my old Pachmayr shooting box. Mine is brown, but has that leatherette type covering, holder for four pistols, similar hardware, etc..
blume357, I carried a 4" .357 for several years, and agree about the 125 grain. We were issued Winchester or Remington .357 125 grain. Each shot felt kinda like a slap to the face to me. The most energetic 9mm +P+, .357 SIG or .45 ACP seems much less concussive ...
I've had a Bisley Blackhawk and FA. I agree, the FA grip frame seems similar to the Bisley to me. In any case, both the FA and Bisley grip frames handle recoil well for me.
G2, Those are beauties!
I've enjoyed reading through this discussion. I admit my crystal ball is a bit cloudy, I don't know which approach is better, the .357 revolver or hi cap 9mm autoloader. Just as with most things in life, each has advantages and disadvantages. As a private citizen, I guess it's mostly just what...
While I've been known to enjoy the 9mm revolvers, I think most shooters are going to prefer the traditional .38/.357s. Especially for recreational range use. For such use, I'd also recommend adjustable sights. The only somewhat available DA 9mm revolvers that don't require moon clips I'm...
I pondered on a .454 about 25 years ago. I'd shot and reloaded my share of heavy .44 Magnum ammo in S&W and Ruger revolvers prior to the .454. The .454 is "a whole nuther thing" IMHO. I think I've shot 20 rounds or so of factory 300 grain ammo in all these years. The rest has been 300...
RJM, I just got back to this thread, Reference the 9mm cases backing out and tying up your revolver, my stainless Blackhawk convertible did that, with the same result. My remedy was to use Gunscrubber or a similar product to make sure the chambers were completely dry. Problem solved, and it...
