I am also looking for a pistol for my wife. We are going to the store today to look at a .327 mag for her. I am thinking very strongly about a GP100 for her. We are going to look at one and see how it fits her hand.
I am going the revovler route because she cannot operate the slide on my autos.
Thanks Mike, I am planning on some serious range time when I get the pistol. I am fairly comfortable shooting a pistol now; I have a Ruger p89, and a xdm c in .40.
I will be shooting the first shot in single action, and hopefully will not need a second shot. I expect to be comfortable at 50...
I just put a Ruger GP100 .357 six inch barrel on lay-a-way. I am looking forward to getting it and shooting it.
My plan right now is to use it for deer hunting next year.

giving these considerations:
* A nine is better than a rock
* A Nine is better than nothing
* A nine has less recoll so you can get your second shot off faster.
So yes I trust my nine, and least until I can afford a .40
Yes those were boxes of 100, however the last time I bought them they were under $20.00
I wonder if Obama will come out with a government ammo subsidy plan for us if the prices keep going up like this:)
You can use the blackhawk for cowboy shoots. However it must be in a cal. that was available in 1899 or eariler. For example you can use the blackhawk .38 cal for cowboy shoots, but if you have the second cylinder that will allow you to shoot 9mm in your blackhawk, you cannot use that wheel or...
