We have the H&R also. I used to shoot silhouette and the DWs were popular due to their long cylinder enabling you to load heavy bullets. Better knockdown and less flame cutting.
Years ago I came across a Blackhawk convertible 10mm and 38/40. I could not get over the polish and bluing that Ruger put on that revolver, it looked very high end. I think it was a special for Buckeye Sports. I wasn't looking for a 10mm but being a single action revolver, a rimless case is a...
Congratulations on your find. Like you, I lucked into one some years back by wondering into a local gun store during the lunchbreak at work. I have the GP100 and a Blackhawk. The advantage these revolvers bring is a longer cylinder to permit heavier bullets to be loaded.

The Smith 52 is great target pistol but the most unforgiving thing ever! :) We still have our 52 along with a 952 Smith. The other rimmed pistols we have are Benellis MP3S and Mod 95 along with a FAS 603 all in S&W 32 Long. Very accurate and they stay on target through recoil.
We have 2 FAS pistols, a 602 and a 603. The sights are the best and they have the perfect feel and balance. You can quickly see why the brand is so successful in competition.
Ron and Terry, Thank you for all of the time you put into this.
I only have 1 Security 6 so I compared it to some revolvers we do have: a GP100, a Redhawk, a Blackhawk, a Smith, and some Dan Wessons. The machining marks are the most pronounced on the Security 6. I was going to stone the...
