    It's arriving today or tomorrow. Judging from the pictures, it looks to be really nice. Thanks to all for correcting my mistake.

    I stand corrected, from the angle of the picture it didn't look contoured. Now the serial number and the configuration of the gun all make sense.

    LOOK at the pics. It clearly has a flat loading gate. Maybe added later?

    Yup, got that answer too, but the flat gate was made from 1953 to 1956.

    Waiting for this at my FFL dealer. Just won on GunBroker. It's excellent condition, just was wondering when it was manufactured. I haven't been able to find that serial number series in my searches on line or Ruger and his guns. Thanks for any input, Tom
