    Wash and wax

One of my rides. I need to get it out, and make another road trip soon, while I still can. I love riding it, It gets great gas mileage, but it's so darned heavy anymore.

    TV Commercial Volumes

Just explaining how it works. Personally, I loathe all the commercials, but they are there to sell product. What pisses me off is, paying for TV content, and having to tolerate the stupid commercials. With what we pay, we shouldn't have to deal with them.

    TV Commercial Volumes

The FCC regs state they can overmodulate the signal only so much percentage in 24 hours, so they overmodulate the commercials, and adjust the rest of the programming transmissions accordingly, to accommodate the rules, keeping them in compliance. So, when you adjust your set to where you can...

Ford class USS JFK launching test sleds into river

I never saw her at Mayport. In fact, when we left Pier 12 in '78, that was the last time I saw her, until I went to Philly in 2020. She really looked sad there, waiting to be towed to Brownsville, to be turned into razor blades.

I was on the first one, CV67, too. I worked in the main engineering spaces. It could have been worse.

Defensive Firearms Training Class ... Help

Sul enjoys a bit of notoriety recently as the latest tacticool lightpost for "what works the best" as a "ready position". Only it isn't a "ready position" – it's a movement position – or if you prefer – a carry position. Google "Warlizard Tactical", and look for "Ready Position". I found it there.

    The Ice Road on Netflix

The one thing I have noticed about Liam Neeson is, no matter what movie he's in, he has to be an armed badass. Never mind that he is an avid, rabid antigunner, that will have a gun in his hand in virtually every movie he makes, and he's not even good at it. I lost respect for him a long time ago.

Maybe a waste of money, but maybe not

The KTM engines are made in Austria, but they are moving the production of certain models, to China, as of December 2023.

Maybe a waste of money, but maybe not

It sounded like a nice little bike, until I got to the part where it's using a Chinese engine. I could have excused a Japanese engine, as they make strong, reliable engines, but I'd be leery of a Chinese engine.

    Ivory vs Bone ????

Having a lot of blacklights, at different wavelengths, I will tell you plastic will also fluoresce.

When did all the Lever Action Rifles get so expensive ??

What I like about mine is that I can keep stuffing rounds into it, as I use them, so I never run out. Kinda handy.

    Cowboy boots and hats......

I get that a lot too from small boys. Seems to get them all excited. Sadly, I no longer have the horse to go with them.

All You Need to Know About Batteries

True, EVs seem greener, but they are no more so to produce than ICEs. The great game changer is, in the scheme of things, is skewed towards the ICE. ICEs are a much more mature technology, and can be fueled by sources other than fossil, or organic, fuels, making them overall more efficient. EVs...

    SFAR help needed

I'm going to suggest replacing the charge handle with a Radian Raptor. The original bit my fingers one too many times. I'm also going to suggest removing the BCG, and completely cleaning it, inside and out, and a good cleaning of the rest of the rifle, from muzzle to buffer. Lube everything up...
