    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

True enough! But it does speak volumes about quality, durability, shootability, etc, etc. One particular make/model is never the best for every possible use.

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

Agreed, except maybe about the cylinder release. Lots of apples and oranges in this entire thread! LOL

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

For example, at the 2023 ICORE International Revolver Championship, here is the breakdown of shooters: Grand Master - 5 Master - 8 A class - 8 B class - 27 C class - 24 D class - 12 So, as you can see, BY FAR the VAST majority are NOT super shooters!

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

Well, the matches of which I spoke are NOT just professional shooters. As a matter of fact, there are VERY few such shooters. BY FAR, and I mean a very LOOOONG shot by far of the shooters/competitors are just regular guys THAT SHOOT! Shooters are broken down by class, GM, M, A, B, C, and D...

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

Interesting thread. I can understand the Ford vs Chevy, etc, etc debates. Much is based on personal preference. But I had to opine on this one. In reference to teasing S&W guys "that folks who USE their gun choose Ruger and people who LOOK AT their guns buy S&W...", well, that makes good...

Single Six 32 vs Single Seven

I'm a huge .32 Mag fan. When the .327 debuted, I thought I would have to have one. Then I started looking closer and found the .32 Mag does everything I want it to do.

Is it safe to fire .38 rounds out of a .357, or will it damage the revolver?

I agree. Terminology is important. The .357 and the .38 Spec and the .38 Long Colt and the .38 Short Colt all shoot bullets of the SAME diameter!

Is it safe to fire .38 rounds out of a .357, or will it damage the revolver?

LOL, I got a kick out of that one also. Hordes of run and gun match competitors (of all skill levels) shoot .38 Short Colt handloaded ammo in .357 revolvers! (Including me.)

    New member Wrangler question...

Interesting. Just last month, I shipped a firearm (that I sold on GB) straight to the buyer's FFL guy. No shipping label.

    New member Wrangler question...

Interesting. I have shipped (even very recently) without having a "label". No problem here. Maybe it is a state law issue where you live.

    New member Wrangler question...

As far as federal law goes, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have to be a manufacturer. If you send to a gunsmith (who will also be an FFL, of course), said 'smith can return said firearm right back to you. And, getting a shipping label from Ruger is not a federal requirement; its a Ruger requirement.

Why the "special" cartridge in a magnum?

That, and the fact that full magnum loads are NO fun to shoot in a snubby! I know there are guys that say that recoil with magnum loads in a snubby does not bother them, and maybe it doesn't for a cylinder-full or two. But I challenge them to come shoot 100 or 200 rounds or more and see how...

Why the "special" cartridge in a magnum?

That thought had never crossed my mind as large pistol and large rifle primers are nominally different dimensions. A quick search found this: Primer dimensions and tolerances Primer Type Height Min Height Max Diameter Min Diameter Max Small Rifle/Pistol 0.1150 0.1260 0.1745 0.1765 Large...

    Love my Mernickle holster

I like Mernickle leather too. Unfortunately, Bob Mernickle sold out and the company moved away (Texas, I think). It was nice when he was only a half hour from me.
