Canada to Destroy Thousands of Classic Browning Hi-Power Pistols

Surprisingly, this doesn’t bother me at all! Thirty years ago I was able to purchase a Canadian military Hi-Power. When received, I was very disappointed to find it was completely shot out. Even the locking grooves in the slide were peened over! I consider myself lucky to have unloaded it for...

    Single six hardware

FYI: There are 2 OM Single Six parts guns on Gunbroker this week. I think they are round gate, tho. Most screws, springs, etc are present. Looks like one has a rear sight but no cylinder while the other has a cylinder but no sight. Condition varies, too.

    Target shooting problems

You probably already know this but “squeeze” the trigger, don’t “yank” it. Squeeze when the sights are on target, stop squeezing when they drift off. This is slow to begin with but gets much faster with practice. The gun will fire, almost by surprise, when you are on-target. FWIW: I start all...

    Free if you need them

Nice offer! I do the same as you and replace them with set screws.

    Ok, who is rich enough?

If I bought that, my wife would load it up and use it on me! 😱

Can Ruger SR- 22 be dry-fired without damage the firing pin?

Well, I read the manual and dry fired the SR-22 that I used to own. Pretty soon it stopped feeding properly due to a burr on the edge of the chamber. It was caused by, you guessed it, the firing pin hitting the chamber. Once the burr was ironed out it worked fine again. On a properly tuned...

Mark ll Target with trigger issue

Since the triggers are aluminum, the pin hole can become worn and elongated on well used models. Not sure if this would cause your problem but it’s another thing to look at. I prefer the steel triggers from Volquartsen.

    Windage adjustment on Bearcat shopkeeper

I like the concept of this tool. I just ordered one to hopefully replace my hammer and brass punch. I have lots of driftable rear sights. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Those shopkeepers are great little revolvers. I just finished reaming a spare cylinder to 22 mag for mine. I haven’t...

    Electric Stoves?

We’ve had every kind imaginable. Our current induction model is the best yet. Even better than gas for fine control.

Any Long Distance Ground Hog Hunters/Shooters on Here?

Years ago, when I lived up in rural Canada we shot hundreds and hundreds of them with every caliber imaginable. My fav was an early Ruger No. 1 heavy barrel in 22-250 wearing a Leupold 6-18. We could take shots as far as we could see - 500 and 600+ just to see if we could do it. (Used binocs to...

Yup, tart cherry juice and unfortunately, dump the beer. Worked like a charm for my Buddy.

    Remington .22 LR Junk!

I’ve had good and bad luck with all of the major brands over the years. Most recently with CCI Blazers. I bought eight bricks at the beginning of the pandemic. They were packaged as a lot of three and a lot of five - different batches. The ”three” lot ran about 15% duds (in any gun) and accuracy...

    Another Generator Question...

Have you looked at Micro-Air’s easystart / softstart systems? It might lower the start load on your AC enough that your current generator will run it.

    Generator battery trickle charger?

I completely gave up on generator batteries - they are never good when you need them. Instead, I replace the battery with a piece of wood with two bolts in it. One connected to positive and the other negative. Now I simply jump from a car when needed.

    Popsicle etiquette

I would add a little Tabasco to the red ones until the problem corrects itself. Ya gotta be quick in our house too to get the color you want!
