I am looking for a nice leather holster for a couple of 6" 1911's I have. All I can find is holsters for 5" and shorter. I have a Para Ordnance Super Hog 14 shot 1911 with a 6" slide and a 5" 1911 that has a Clark 460 Rowland kit on it that has the muzzle break on it which makes it's slide 6". I want a lined leather holster with a snapping strap on it like my tom Threepersons holster I have for my 5" 1911. Has anyone got any ideas where I could get a holster that would fit these two guns?

Once upon a time........I owned a "Custom"(the original owner told me.......") El Paso Leather 1911 holster built for a long slide custom 1911, he had requested they build for him. It would have needed a "wet" fit. Sadly, it went away with the 1911.......El Paso still lists a swivel Pershing 1911 holster in stock............(Shoulda kept it)

If you need leather then get a custom made. If not, look at a uncle mikes sidekick for 6" barrel. A size 8 or 14 Sidekick should do the job. Just because it says its for a revolver does not mean it wont work for a Semi auto. I have one for my Python that holds a full size 1911 very well. I use them for field work.

My issue is that when I have the comped bbl in it, it is an extra 3" longer than a stock 6" slide. I WILL need a custom holster made then.

Must be a huge compensator given it's two or more times the size of any of the regular commercial models. Standard barrel length extension is .75" for threading, so a "Commander" sized 1911 with a threaded/comped barrel ends up very close in size to a standard full size model.
