What am I missing here? That is a crazy number for what looks like a regular flat gate single six and non catalog box.

what makes an OM single six worth $1600 ?
I'm new here and if this type of post is not allowed please remove and accept apology. I watched a Gunbroker auction for a 1955 flat latch single six. Pretty good shape. It sold for > $1600. I'll link it if that's acceptable but easily found if you search Completed and sort by Bid count...

A very strong number.............perhaps by one less educated and or pursuing for a personal reason..........It is 70 years old and looks minty...........JMO
Your not missing anything. You didn't buy it for that price. I am not knowledgeable on this but after reading comments it appears to be that way.
I could see it, and it would be a good deal, IF .....it was a type 1....so...makes me wonder?

That was exactly my thought when I saw the final number but definitely not a type 1.
ser # 2000 or less. I got so many of them now I don't know hat to do with them. im NOT a single six guy! I'm Mr. Deerstalker....lol
Auctions used to be a source of great entertainment for me....... (cars and guns)........ It got so silly that it no longer was fun to watch people show how undisciplined they could be with a fist full of dollars. But, that should be nothing new to observers of human behavior over the centuries...
