Nahh,, we aren't trying to kill ya,, we are just realists.

Quite a few of us started the very same way. "Just get one in each caliber." Then it was, well, "I need one in each barrel length." Or the "Gee,, they make them in convertibles!, Gotta get those too!"

Gun makers have built variations of their guns because what Joe may like,, Tom wants something different, and Sam wants something different than either of them. Then there are those of us who just like them ALL!!!!!!!

You started a quest. You feel you have reached it. Yet,, sooner or later,, you'll see a variation, and say; "Gee I'd like to add that one to my bunch!"

Don't sweat it,, it's ALL good!

I have the 45LC/ACP and the 22LR/WSM convertibles. I do not have the 357/9MM one. Was looking at a 9MM cylinder but haven't decided on it yet.

As for barrel length? My current issue is space... I am currently double stacking my pistol rack by putting some of them upside down between the others. No room for a new safe, and no way to increase the storage capacity of the current safe. As it is, I am not sure I can get the 4 long guns that are at my GS in there,

He's putting a muzzle break and restoring/lengthening the stock on my 1917, still trying to fix my Chiappa lever gun (stuck exploded case), replacing a barrel and restoring to Milspec a 1942 Mauser, and building me an AR-9...

It's amazing how with a little ingenuity you can find extra room in your safe. I've run out of room several times, only to reconfigure and fit more. This is the last go-around. The door will pretty much stay the same- but there's more room under the shelf and room for a similar solution on the top shelf if needed…

I fabricated them up myself. It's a 90 degree angle with a 3" appropriately sized bolt, covered in heat shrink to protect the barrel. There's a nylon washer between the barrel and the nut. I use some heavy adhesive lined 4-1 heat shrink for most calibers. .22 is a little tricky- I take a 10/32 bolt and turn off the threads for where the barrel will be. Then I use a thinner heat shrink. It's a similar setup on the door. You have to experiment with bolt sizes and heat shrink thickness/layers to get a good fit.

As noted, you can get very creative in how you store your handguns. I know a guy who has a normal 30 gun gun safe. He has about 20 long guns and over 60 handguns in it.
His safe has the normal long gun rack. He puts his guns in a gun sock. Then he puts one in muzzle up, then another one and the same space muzzle down. I think he has added dowels or something to the ends of the rack to keep them separated in pairs like that.
His handguns are in gun socks and he has them on the shelves alternating them, one on top of the other and in rows.
He figures he can still get more in there.

It's true! Back in October 2021, I bought an OM Super from WMG. Little did I know that between then and now I'd be buying 16 more. I keep on thinking "no more, I have enough". But there's always that next one. Right now I'm sorta trying to get a Single Six from each year 1954-1968. And then there's the search for my Eleanor- the unicorn SS with the serial 553553 to pair with my D553553. And I don't consider myself a collector- just an accumulator.

You suggested the safe door modification to me before, but I haven't gotten "a round tuit" yet. I won't be able to do it quite like that as my door isn't quite as wide as yours. I might be able to run a single strip up the middle with rods sticking out of both sides, though. What are you using for the rods? EDIT: I should have scrolled farther down!

Yep. 3" long fully threaded bolts of various sizes and heat shrink. Works great!
