Farmer question planting crimson clover

OK, whatever. What type of clover are you having problems with. Also be specific as 'clover grasses' is a contradiction of plant biology.
I'm a real time 'farmer' with connections in the crop production/weed control industry. I can give you some suggestions of products that may help you control 'clover' in a lawn if that's what you want.
That said, I know of no product labelled to control legume/broadleaf that 'feeds' those species.

Clover is easily controlled in grass with a light application of broadleaf herbicide that will not damage grasses.
St. Augustine grass is so similar to broadleaf weed families it cannot tolerate the herbicides used to kill clover. Now if there is a different approach, I'd love to hear it. Good thing is SA chokes out the clover by about this time of year but because SA is so slow to come out (needs overnight temps above 65), the clover makes it look like crap until June. Oh, and golf courses BATTLE clover until it gets to 100.
