For sale is a 2x intermediate-eye-relief Springfield Armory scout scope, in like-new condition (please see photos). Reticle is a central dot, with tapered posts at 3, 6, 9, & 12 o'clock.

I purchased this years ago, brand new but mounted on a display rifle at an FFL, for a scout rifle project I never did (so, it's basically new, without box or paperwork). No ring marks that I can see, and the glass looks as-new. These are quality scopes with Japanese optics (not Chinese/third world), and were intended by Springfield for use on their M1As that were set up as scout rifles - but I'm guessing it will be right at home on any other scout rifle, also!

This is a very tough-to-find Springfield scope, especially in like-new condition!
PRICE DROP - $139 shipped Priority Mail, payment by USPS money order if possible (or personal check if you're a Supporting Member).

Post "I'll take it!" and send me a PM if it suits your needs!

Will this work on a pistol?

I don't think it would be ideal on a pistol. My understanding is that scout scopes have enough eye relief (distance between the eye & rear scope lens) to mount forward of the rifle action instead of directly over it (as with an M1A scout rifle, or possibly a Ruger scout rifle, Savage scout rifle, etc.). Just holding this scope up and looking through it, I'm guessing the usable range of eye relief is in the 10"or 11" to maybe 15" range. Here's a photo of an M1A with a similar (not Springfield Armory) scout scope:

If you're holding a pistol out at arm's length, you would probably need more eye relief than that.

As always IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc.
