Pressures and blast heat 45 Colt vs. 45-70 Trap Door loads?

I would posit your application will be completely fine. Rugged Obsidian 45 is rated to supersonic .45-70 from a rifle-length barrel with an aluminum outer tube and similar continuous baffle stack. I would also argue at the rates you're going to be firing .45-70 from most platforms, heat is never...

    Quick Ruger Gen 2 question

    1) Almost certainly not, since the brake is not intended to be removed in normal service. Some threads on here about how to remove Ruger brakes indicate it might be very tight. Ruger may provide one on request, probably won't be color matched no matter where you get it. 2) Yes, replaceable...

    Kindle ebook reader

I pull the memory/hard drives and destroy them, or rewrite them with the appropriate software so there is no recoverable data. At this point, storage is so cheap almost doesn't make sense to do anything but destroy them. If you're a fan of recycling, the aluminum castings from drives are an...

What is your minimum comfort zone for brass stock?

Don't even think about this for handguns. For rifles, 2-300 per caliber for bolt actions, more if the caliber will be used functionally rather than recreationally. 1000+ per caliber for semi-autos, though more likely to just buy ammo in those cases and save the empties for a rainy day.

Which Production Plant Does The Wrangler/Super Made

I don't think there's any way you're going to get a letter that says the rollmark was left off. Given that it's a violation of ATF marking requirements, they may want to swap you one that does have the markings and scrap out the one you have.

NM polling place ban doesn't apply to folks with CCW, IIRC.

Which Production Plant Does The Wrangler/Super Made

Any pics of the underside of the barrel? Wondering if the roll stamp was just too light and got filled in by the finish? Interesting error if it was omitted completely.

    Trigger breakdown?

Can download manual from Ruger's site, has an exploded parts diagram: https://ruger.com/dataProcess/serialHistory/manuals.php

Which Production Plant Does The Wrangler/Super Made

Is it just me, or is "INSTRUCTION MANUAL" in the rollmark pictured in post #47 in italics while the rest of the rollmark is not? Anyone else see similar on their sample?

Help me find the missing link...my Blackhawk Bisley Collection

Why the 4-5/8" .44 Special instead of the 5-1/2"? 5249 and 5250 are the model numbers, I believe. ETA: sure wish Ruger had done a run of the mid-frame .357s with a Bisley grip.

    Redhawk tritium sights

Current Redhawk data from Ruger seems to indicate they are still the dovetail plunger style. Looks like the Meprolight tritium sight for the GP are discontinued, but front sights are still available. A picture of the sight you're trying to replace would help verify a compatible product.

    Redhawk tritium sights

GP-100 sights fit the Redhawks with the plunger front sight. There's a different model for true 4" Redhawks with the pinned front sight. Which do you have? Not sure if the pinned sights are available anymore, pinned sight Redhawks haven't been manufactured in about 15 years.

Can a new front sight be "blued" or darkened prior to install?

Cold blue pens exist. Regular cold blue works better, applied with a makeup sponge. There's also a paint finish that is a low-temperature cure, think it might be called GunKote? Will edit when I get home, have some around the house for this sort of task. ETA: Air-cure GunKote. Requires around...

    Cylinder Throat Measurement

In my experience, the .432-.433 measurement is normal for Ruger .44s. SAAMI spec is .4325, so I would not call that measurement "large". I don't know why .44 bullets are not offered in the .432+ range by major manufacturers.
