A Ruger MKI bull barrel I bought in 1982. It has more rounds through it than I can count. Here it is with a B Square mount with a cheap scope. The scope has been replaced with a red dot. I bought a well-used Ithaca Model 49 about six months later. It's the first thing in the truck for any range session.

The one I've had the longest is a Sears Model 200 shotgun- 12ga pump. My wife got it for me as a birthday present shortly after we were married, so probably 43 years ago.

Right around the same time I found a Remington 510 Target Master .22 single shot leaning up against a tree in a roadside turnout. Loaded, safety off. I checked its manufacture date and it is from April 1941. That makes it the oldest, and almost the longest owned. It's a sweet little plinker- super accurate and a crazy light trigger.

Like so many others have stated- I have bought/sold/traded so many guns over the years that I wish I'd kept. My next oldest would have been a stainless .357 Blackhawk, but my buddy has it now- traded for something. Still trying to get it back…

I do have my father-in-law's Winchester 370 Youth 20 ga- it's probably from the late 60's- early 70's. I've had it for about 30 years.

A Sears 22 single shot with the pull back cocking knob. Received when I was 12. Went to my mom and now my brother has it. A Ruger Single Six Convertible for my High School graduation present- June 1968.

My first, oldest, still have is the Ruger BearCat (Alpha Cat) my father gave me on my 16th birthday in this very month in 1968. The one on the right is a Colorado Centennial I bought new for myself about 10 years later. I still have that one also.

My first was Remington Model 514 also I got in 1967 for my birthday from the Gambles Hardware, Dad paid $29.00 for it & the rifle came with 2 boxes of Federal 22 longs ammo. I can't even think about how many bullets have been thru it shooting gophers, skunks, badgers & the weathervane on the chicken house that I got my butt kicked for up home in Montana. Still have it.

My Dad bought me a Browning BL-22 and a Western Field bolt action 20 gauge for my 11th birthday in '73, still have them both. First handgun is a Dan Wesson 514 .357 and I still have it. Great post, lots of good memories!
