What firearm have you owned the longest?

My 1975 New Model Blackhawk 357, purchased new by me, my first revolver. Carried it everywhere except to church for years. Shows the years of wear and abuse it took in the early times. Many would say it looks much older than 50 years. I had to replace the worn grips a dozen years ago due to...

    Concealed Carry

I carry a da/sa cambered and decocted, outside hip holster... I was going out my door several months ago and as I stepped out the door the neighbor's vicious shepherd was charging on full attack. I don't know how I drew the gun fast enough, but if I would have had to rack the slide I would have...

Ruger P Series pistols. How good are/were they?

blume: Can you chamber a .40 in a 357 sig chamber? I considered a swappable barrel gun a couple times but would be nervous about getting ammo mixed up. Accidentally trying to shoot a 40 in 357 barrel would not be pretty.

    Bigfoot Poll

I have no proof either way, so I say "could be". I can't verify the photos, tracks, sightings, etc are fake or real. I have heard and seen some unusual things out in the wilds, most eventually explained logically. Do you believe in God, Allah, others? Can you prove His existence to an unbeliever?

    Scariest movie ever?

The Blob back in my early years.... More recently "The Sixth Sense" , sometimes I almost wonder if I am living it?

    Ruger P95 surprise and question

You might want to shoot that new in the box one a bit in case of a sudden need for it. It appears very unlikely but Ruger like all companies occasionally let a lemon loose. Back n the day I traded my P89 in on a new P95, That thing was a jam-o-matic, tried all kinds of fixes, had nothing but...

    44 vs 357 muzzle blast

In reading my previous posts apparently I did not make it clear that I was not looking for lectures on the hazards of shooting a shot or two without hearing protection... More so comparing the differences between the 2 calibers I selected. The chart rammerjammer posted on db levels helps, as do...

Question about SA accuracy (from another forum)

I have had both, some very accurate, some so so. Found much depends on grips and what loads gun likes Had a 10.5" SBH, couldn't hit a barn with factory dragoon grips, 5 out of 6 shots hits clay birds at 100 yds all day long with Pachmeyer presentation grips... S&W 686 with factory target grips...

    44 vs 357 muzzle blast

Thanks for the quick responses... I was thinkin low power heavy bullets out of 44. I rarely buy loaded ammo except when I find a deal and need new brass, reloads are so much cheaper (and a fun hobby). I've hunted all my life and not had noise issues with occasional shots from shotguns, high...

    44 vs 357 muzzle blast

Hi all... I'm looking to soon purchase a shorter barreled revolver for woods carry... mainly for defense against 2 and 4 legged varmints in the TN mountains. I have full size 357 and 44 and have carried 357 blackhawk for many years with full power loads, but it is deafening without ear...

    dealers with dirty guns

Seems most used guns I've looked at at most dealers in the past decade have been filthy. Is this common practice everywhere? I really want to give a gun a thorough inspection to look for wear/damage before I buy, especially considering the prices lately, but when they are that filthy it is hard...

    Recommended AMMO for Mark III

I haven't bought any Rem's for a while (2 years?) because of too many misfires, roughly 1 out of 20. I have been using the Winchester Wildcat 22's in the white box for plinking with my MarkIII with no issues. I don't use my MarkIII Target for serious target work though, so I can't really comment...
