I know this has been asked before but I can't find the thread. I baked on the finish on a OM alum frame. It came out crappy. Now I want to remove it annd start over. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Easiest would be to use a fine grit aluminum oxide in an abrashive blaster and blast it off. The fine grit will leave a "smoother" surface that you can then polish smooth or coat with something else. Just mask off or plug anything you don't want to have the blast material to hit.
I'm sure there is but it might not be too easy to use (or healthy for you to be around). I do see that people have various degrees of success using acetone but I guess it takes a while to soak and wipe, soak and wipe...
I've had luck with the aircraft paint stripper- Jason I think. Coat it thick and wait for it to bubble up. It's some pretty potent stuff- melts nitrile gloves…
