    SP101 cylinder latch problem

Thanks, that's sort of what I was afraid of. Considering it's a 1993 production, I will probably reinstall the original latch and see if I can get a call tag to send it to the factory for a spa day. I'll still check those things while I have it apart but I'm pretty sure this is one of those...

    Shiny Standards

Nice collection! I never really knew those were a thing until now. I guess they never got enough requests for stainless standards or the ones they made were slow movers? Considering stainless is the new standard (so to speak), I’m kind of surprised we haven’t seen any stainless MKIVs.

    Identifying a transfer bar conversion

This should answer some of your questions: https: //www.rugerforum.com/threads/how-to-tell-an-old-model-single-action-is-converted.287715/ I believe the plunger you're seeing is the trigger return and would be there whether it's converted or not.

    SP101 cylinder latch problem

I've got a couple of the French Railway SP101s and I noticed on one of them I could spin the cylinder clockwise with very little effort with the hammer down. I picked up a new cylinder latch from Midway and installed it last night with minimal fuss. That appeared to fix the original problem...

    Three Screw Single Six

If at all possible that's what I'd do. I bought a Wrangler when they first came out. From a functional standpoint it was just fine but it didn't provide the same pride of ownership as my '68 Super. IMO the only real improvement the Wrangler has is the free spin cylinder pawl but I freely...

    Good MK series reference books?

Thanks! @chet15’s book and the Dougan book were on my list but I hadn’t seen the Findley book. I was wondering about the Duncan Long book but based on the reviews and the “distant third” recommendation it looks like it won’t be a priority.

Today's acquisition ... custom Mark IV

Nice! I’ve been drooling over those for a couple of years now. I prefer the balance of the taper barrels so I’ve been holding out for a 4.25” Standard but I might cave and “settle” for the 6” Standard.

    Good MK series reference books?

I love a good reference book as much as a good firearm. I know RENE is a source I should be subscribing to, but what are the other current go-to reference books for the MK/Standard series? I’m less interested in blue book value guides and more interested in the history, changes and...

SPF Clements S&W pre war style rear sight

Picked this up a couple of months ago with the idea of having it installed on a Vaquero. I’ve since decided to not go ahead with that project so I figured I’d see if anyone here could use it. $175 shipped which is what I’m into it for, prefer PP F&F or Google Pay. Cross posted so time stamps on...

SPF Great Western .44 Special - reduced x2/trades added

Reduced and cross posted, time stamps for a firm "I'll take it" will be the tie breaker

SPF Great Western .44 Special - reduced x2/trades added

Picked this up earlier this summer but despite my best efforts and really, really wanting to, I just can't see SAA style sights well enough to enjoy shooting them. The good: 1956 production 5.5" .44 Special as discussed HERE. Blued with the later CCH, cylinder, cylinder frame and both pieces...

    SPF 21 SMLE chargers/stripper clips

Cleaning up a while back I found these left over from a long departed SMLE. Mix of styles, markings and manufacturers, typical surplus condition showing wear but no rust (at least none I've seen). I've seen MKII, MKIV, JP, JM, FN and broad arrow stamps. $50 shipped PP F&F or Google Pay SPF I...
