    How are the 10mm SR1911’s

I've never owned a bull barrel 1911. One of my first actions with a new 1911 is fitting a EGW Oversized Barrel Bushing. Bull barrels seem dependent on factory accuracy in fitting.

RUGER NO. 1 CARBON FIBER BARREL

Who did you use for your #1 gunsmithing. I have a 45-70 model that I'm thinking about having converted to 358 win for hunting.

    Ruger Revolvers:

Give me two new Super Blackhawk Hunter models in 10mm and 45Colt. Sold my 45Colt model and want it back. I visited the Ruger booth at the PA Great Outdoor Show in Harrisburg. I have to admit, the Ruger booth was understaffed. I didn't have the opportunity to talk to any Ruger Reps. Conversely...

    Ruger vs S&W Revolvers

Ruger, S&W or Colt comes to a Ford, Chevy/GMC or Ram decision. I've owned all three and wish I never sold any of them. Just saw one of the limited edition N-frames from the 80's that I owned and its now auctioning at $2500....same with a couple Colts I liquidated foolishly. I have a few...

    Ruger #1 Laminate Stocks

Anyone know of a source for #1 Laminate Stocks. Bought a 1S in 45-70, but the stock shortened by an inch. Ruger - not available. Boyd's - stopped making #1 stocks years ago and not interested in making "one" for me. Only stock makers I see are for exhibition grade wood. Just want the...

    problem with mark ll

Functioning again. My dealer, who is also a gunsmith, took a look and recommended knocking down some burrs that had developed on the disconnector where it hooks into the sear. All is well again. Thanks for the suggestions...they pointed me in the right direction.

Help - Mk II stopped cocking

Disassembled the mk2 again tonight. Working the bolt is smooth and light. Looking at the lower operation, it appears that the disconnector is the problem area. It is itermittently actuating the sear. It seems to be sitting too low in the frame and not grabbing the sear. Any suggestions...

    problem with mark ll

Have what sounds like the same condition. Was at the range and the hammer stopped cocking 100%. At first, it would work intermittently, then died all together. Tore it apart and was able to get the hammer to cock once after reassembling. Now it's totally dead again. I could not see...

Help - Mk II stopped cocking

Was out at the range on Saturday shooting my Mk II Target model. After about 5 mags, the pistol stopped cocking. Trigger moves but hammer is not cocked. I tore it down and looked for anything broken, but could not find anything. Any suggestions on what to check?

THE 358 WINCHESTER - A TRUE HUNTERS CARTRIDGE

New to the 358 Win. I have a Ruger Hawkeye and have made a couple range visits. Still working on a hunting load and wondering what everyone else uses for powder. I've tried H4198 and Win 748 so far. Was thinking about trying IMR 3031. I've settled in on the Hornady 200gr SP bullets...

    Ruger #1 Peep Sight ?

I have had a NECG Peep Rear Sight on Ruger #1 in 45-70 for several years. I love it. I do not recall changing the front sight. The rifle is a brush hunting gun and the peep makes it quick to shoulder and onto target.

THE 358 WINCHESTER - A TRUE HUNTERS CARTRIDGE

The Ruger 77 Hawkeye Stainless in 358 Win arrived, picked up the Redfield Revolution 2-7x scope, and made a maiden voyage to the range. Boresighted through the barrel and commenced shooting. Long story short, I didn't do too good of a job boresighting and was nearly out of rounds by the time I...

THE 358Win AND THIS YEARS HUNTS

Thank You for the insight on stocks. I placed my orders last night for reloading materials (dies & brass). They should be arriving about the same time as the rifle. Looking forward to the range!
