    Selling Ammunition

I went to a gun shop to sell some ammunition, Winchester 45acp 100-round boxes which go for about 60 bucks. They offered me 20 bucks a box. Is this typical? Do folks at gun shows buy ammunition and if so, are their offers better? Any insight would be appreciated. Pierow

I never store mine cocked as well and always hated having to dry-fire before storing. Not anymore. Thanks Snake. Pierow

Hoss and his beef jerky run

I recall some of his stories. Remember the bag of popcorn trick he would play as a kid. Lay a bag of popcorn on the sidewalk with a brick in it then fill the rest with popcorn. Unsuspecting older teenager kid would come along and kick-it. Wasn't there that funny picture of Hoss with one of Ed's...

    Self-Made Pistol Grips

Nice grips Pete. I enjoy shooting my air rifles and pistols too. I noticed you referred to "dooryard" in your post above. That's a new one for me. Is that a geographical thing or generational? I assume dooryard to mean front yard. Pierow

    Random Handiwork Pics

Looks nice Pete. You wonder if those sheaths might appear on an antiques roadshow in a couple hundred years. You never know. Nice little Beretta, or I mean chicken sandwich you have there. Pierow

    A little 'snapper'

Just in case anyone has the need to pick one up by hand, you first approach from the rear. Take hold of the snapper at mid-shell on either side and lift keeping upper body and face as far away from the shell as possible. Don't freak as the head protrudes, turns around and looks you straight in...

    Ruger Standard

I have a standard purchased in the late sixties with matching box. The box has smoke damage which looks sort of cool as there was a piece of fabric or clothing partially over the box during the fire. The result is sort of a tie-dye effect. Have a question regarding the wax writing denoting the...

    Cats SUCK... Dogs RULE...Case CLOSED

Cats SUCK... Dogs RULE...Case CLOSED is like saying........... Squares SUCK.....Circles RULE......Case ClOSED There is no case to close, no germane comparison to be made. If you love dogs then simply say it. If you hate cats and feel the need to proclaim such then by all means, start a...

Very unusual airplane in the A/F Museum

Thanks Jim & Selena. Regarding the wind driven generators I think they still have them on most if not all commercial aircraft. A redundancy if all power is lost. They were mentioned in an account I read of the Gimli Glider incident. Ram air turbines. Pierow
