    Book Recommendations

Recently, I read “The Mysterious Case of Rudolf Diesel: Genius, Power, and Deception on the Eve of World War I “ by Douglas Brunt. I thought it a little slow at first and I didn’t really like the way the author jumped around, but I thought it was a good book. I thought that the author made a...

$128,000 burning a hole in your pocket?

Dang, I am over the weight limit! I guess I am stuck with my ten year old Camry.

    I Won! (Updated w/Pics)

Congratulations. I am a long time member of the forum and have a bunch of Rugers, but I don’t have a 10-22! I am not sure how I never got around to buying one. I remember really wanting to get one back as a pre teen over a half century ago. I couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted more, a Ruger...

    The Ugliest Guns Ever Made.

Well I own 2 Ruger LCRs. I absolutely think that they are a great lightweight pocket revolver. But they are definitely not the prettiest revolvers.

    Intereseting transaction with Fidelity

I have seen enough seniors scammed. It never ends. Friends and relatives have been hit. Actually, I have been an indirect victim myself after a con man emptied a seven figure investment account of friends. As I recall , Fidelity has put in place more safeguards to try to stop some of it. I...

Question about who is responsible for stolen car accident?

One Sunday morning I was awakened by a police officer wanting to know where my car was located. I said apparently not in front of my house since you are asking that question. I went to the window and of course it was gone. It was stolen overnight and the thieves had gone joyriding around the...

    Another fun morning

I have not checked the forum for a while. I am sorry to hear of your situation. That sounds frightening. I am glad that there has been some recovery and that she is back home. I am sure that prayer was helpful. I send my prayer for her continued recovery and for you as you continue to care for her.

How to drive a car with a clutch

You guys make me feel bad. I replaced the original clutch at 140,000 miles. I thought I did pretty good. Maybe not, compared to some of your stories. It was about 85% stop and go city rush hour driving if that helps my case. It was our first brand new car, a simple Toyota Corolla, that was...

    My other passion

I loved archery as a kid. I picked it up again when my daughter became interested in her early teens. We enjoyed it for years and the great group of people at the range and competitions. In some ways, I found it much more pleasurable than going to the gun range. No hearing protection needed. No...

    The Good Place TV Series

We watched as a family when it was first on several years back. I thought it was a fun and entertaining tv show. Don’t expect theological insights. But I have a lot of coursework in philosophy and theology and I thought that they brought up a number of topics in morality and ethics. The writers...

    Coffee?

The last couple of years, we have been using an AeroPress coffee maker. We think it makes a great individual cup of coffee. It is a little more work than a drip machine and a lot more than a Keurig. I make mine directly over an insulated mug. Drip is fine too, if you serve it immediately. I have...

    Coffee Mugs

I will pass on the unwashed mugs. Everything gets thoroughly washed, including all the coffee making equipment. Every cup is a fresh brew also, no coffee sitting around on a burner for hours. I do like the insulated mugs and such, since they keep my coffee warm.
